Introduction: the kind of mothers` occupation is one of the factors which have a great effect on their parenting style. The objective of the present study is having comparative analysis of parenting styles between female nurses and female office staff in the selected hospital under the supervision of Esfahan University of medical sciences on 2014. Introduction: Parenting styles, as the most important and most fundamental factor shaping children's personality, are influenced by many factors including social, economic, and occupational experiences of parents. Considering job characteristics of females working in hospitals, this study aimed at investigating the parenting styles of females working in hospitals affiliated to Isfahan University of Medical Sciences and some relevant variables during year 2014. Methods: This was a correlational cross-sectional study, in which 202 females working in hospitals of Isfahan and having children with an age range of 1 to 11, were selected by convenience sampling method. All participants completed the questionnaire of demographic features and also Baumrind's parenting style questionnaire. The information was analyzed based on descriptive and analytical statistic methods and also using the SPSS software Version 20. Results: The results revealed that participants received the highest average score in authoritative parenting style (32.4 ± 4.2), and the lowest in the authoritarian style (16.78 ± 6). Among the studied variables, age and number of children were negatively correlated with permissive parenting style score, and education level was positively correlated with permissive parenting style score. Other variables, however, were not significantly correlated with the parenting styles. Conclusions: Considering the job characteristics of females and the essential role of mothers in raising children, it is necessary to adjust working hours of females, in addition to training and promoting parenting skills and facilities.

Background and purpose: The office of disaster management and emergency medical service is one of the most important subdivisions of the Ministry of health. Analyzing the tasks and functions of this office is critical to its evaluation. This study aimed at analyzing the information needs of this office to develop statistical indicators required. Materials and methods: This qualitative-quantitative study was carried out during 2015. The study population included the managers and expert panels in disaster management and emergency medical service in the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran. We interviewed 14 individuals in different departments within the office and reviewed the administrative tasks and the available documents. After analyzing the data, different information needs of all departments were identified and classified. Results: According to the administrative tasks and practices, 69 groups of information needs were identified of which 17.4% are not met. 45.3% of the information needs did not have any standard sources or forms to collect the data required. Conclusion: Lack of standard sources for the most identified information needs, decentralized information systems, and out-of-date information are the major problems of managers and expert panels. So, designing national standard forms to collect data, designing a comprehensive statistics and information system and reviewing current paper forms and databases seem to be essential.
Happiness and its related factors among Students in Golestan University of Medical Sciences

Introduction: Happiness makes a positive attitude to life, a positive self-concept, a mental health and emotional balance, better educational performance, and decision-making. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between individual and educational factors on happiness among university students. Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in 2014 on 238 students of Golestan University of Medical Sciences. The students participated in the study using quota and randomized sampling methods. The data were collected by Oxford happiness inventory and demographic questionnaire and were analyzed by Pearson's test, ANOVA and t-test. Results: Out of 238 students, 56.7% were female. The mean of happiness score was 45.67 ± 16.28. The statistical relationship between age and happiness was significant (P = 0.04). There were no significant relationships between happiness and the field of study, academic average, ethnicity, marital status, and students' economic status. The highest mean of happiness was for the Laboratory Sciences students. More than half of the students (54.8%) had average happiness level above the mean score. Conclusions: Regarding the students with average level of happiness, applying approaches to develop happiness in academic environment seems important.
Health-promoting Lifestyle among Students in Kerman University of Medical Sciences, 2016

Background and purpose: Healthy lifestyle is an important factor in prevention of chronic diseases. The health of medical students is highly influential due to their fundamental role in every health system. In this study, the health-promoting lifestyle and its determinants were evaluated in medical, dental, and pharmacy students. Materials and methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in 650 students using stratified sampling in Kerman, Iran 2016. The health-promoting lifestyle profile (HPLP-II) was used and data was analyzed applying univariate and multivariate linear regression analysis in SPSS. Results: The mean score for health-promoting lifestyle was 104.93±22.9 which had no significant relationship with gender, marital status, living condition, and the education levels. Introduction: Ethical climate determines how to make decisions in the organization based on ethical criteria leading to employee's satisfaction and quality of service. In a stressful environment of an operating room, the survey of the ethical climate can help to promote surgery properly. Furthermore, organizational commitment is one of the factors which determines the criteria for ethical decision making Objective: This study aimed to determine the correlation between ethical climate and organizational commitment from the viewpoints of operating room technologists and anesthesia technologists in hospitals affiliated to Iran University of Medical Sciences. Material and Methods: This descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study was performed on 161 operating room and anesthesia technologists working in the training hospitals of Iran University of Medical Sciences in 2019 by survey sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The material consisted of three parts including demographic information, the ethical climate of Victor and his colleague, and the organizational commitment of Allen and his colleague. To analyse the data, descriptive and analytical statistics including Mean and Pearson's correlation test were used (SPSS 20) the significance level was considered less than 0.05. Results: The mean age of the subjects was 33.02±7.18 years, ranging from 23 to 53 years old; 71.4% were females; 24.3% had undergraduate education and the rest were college students. The working experience of subjects was at most in the range of 1 to 5 years (41.6%). The most frequent field of specialization was general surgery (21.1%).The strongest ethical climate and organizational commitment were associated with "professionalism" and "continued commitment", respectively. The result of Pearson's test showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between ethical climate and organizational commitment. (P=0.002 and R=0.237). Moreover, a significant relationship was found between its dimensions (P<0.05) Discussion and Conclusion: The results of present study help hospital managers to identify the ethical climate and organizational commitment, administer curricula to institutionalize ethics, and ultimately enhance organizational commitment and sustain human capital.
Evidence-Based Medicine in Iranian Schools of Traditional Medicine According to Experts
Background & Objective: Most experts of Iranian traditional medicine believe that it is absolutely necessary and inevitable to update the field to utilize evidence in education of Iranian traditional medicine students and treatment of its patients. In this regard, this study attempted to evaluate utilization of evidence-based medicine (EBM) in the curriculum of School of Iranian Traditional Medicine. Methods: In this qualitative study, semi-structured, individual, and face-to-face interviews were done to collect Iranian traditional medicine expert’s point of views in regard to EBM. Content analysis was done to analyze the data. Results: The study findings were classified in two major categories including EBM in the curriculum of Iranian traditional medicine, and EBM application in Iranian School of Traditional Medicine.
