Coronavirus infection is a zoonotic disease of viral origin. The SARS-CoV-2 is the novel virus that causes the ongoing pandemic affecting the global community hence a very big threat to the global public health. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was first detected Wuhan, China and reported to World Health Organization (WHO) country office in China on 31st December 2019. It has since been spreading, resulting in an ongoing pandemic. As at 19 May, there are about 4.8 million cases of Covid-19 with 316,169 deaths reported in more 188 countries of the world. The initial transmission appeared to be from an animal source, but there has been person to person transmission in the affected countries. A lot of preventive and control measures have employed to severe transmission. Strategies in the control of an outbreak are containment or suppression and mitigation. Currently there is no specific vaccine or treatment for COVID-19. This work reviewed the Coronavirus Disease 19, its epidemiolog...

A review on global threat corona virus disease: COVID-19

Journal of Applied Pharmaceutical Research, 2020

Corona virus disease is a kind of viral disease caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-CoV 2, which is first witnessed in Wuhan city, China and it can be transmit from human to human. Coronavirus size ranges from (65-125 nm) in diameter and contain a single stranded RNA as nucleic acid material, size ranging from 26 to 32 kbps in length. The sub group of coronaviruses family is Alpha (α) Beta (β) Gama (γ) and delta (δ) coronavirus. Coronavirus disease is a kind of respiratory disease which mainly affects the lower respiratory tract of human body. Initially interferon α normalisation, broad spectrum antibiotic and antiviral drugs was used to reduce the viral load. There may be different kind of mode of transmission of this virus for example Respiratory transmission, Aerosol transmission, Contact transmission and Hospital acquired transmission. There is a well explained safety measures is provided to inhibit the COVID-19 spread which should be followed properly. There are some testing processes also developed to determine the presence of this virus. Till now not even a single vaccine is developed for the treatment of this COVID-19 but more than 12 countries across the globe are undergoing trial for more than 150 vaccine candidates.

OVERVIEW ON CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19

Asian Journal of Advances in Medical Science , 2020

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is an important public health emergency of international concern. Firstly COVID-19 was isolated from Wuhan market in China at 7 Jan. 2020. As of this time, there is no known effective pharmaceutical treatment; although it is much needed for patient contracting severs form of the disease. This virus causes respiratory infection in human including sneezing, coughing, cold and pneumonia while in animal it causes diarrhea and upper respiratory diseases. COVID-19 is transmitted human to human or human to animal via airborne droplets. This disease can be diagnosis on the basis of travel history from infected areas, common symptom or by laboratory confirmations. WHO advised to avoid public place, close contact to Coronavirus infected persons, wearing mask, sanitizing hands and maintain social distancing for prevention. It's also advised infected pensions keep in quarantine center for 14 days or separate from other family member to single separate room, implementation of contact, droplet precaution, and airborne precaution, keep physical distances. Some countries are also using lopinavir/ritonavir, remdesivir, chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine drugs for treatment of Coronavirus but these are not efficient in cure of this disease. The aim of the systematic review of literature is to summarize the evidence regarding COVID-19, symptoms, pathogenesis and prevention/treatment.

An overview on corona virus a global pandemic outbreak

The current COVID-19 pandemic is not well known as it is unmatched with other outbreaks over the past several decades. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a highly contagious disease caused by a newly identify coronavirus. COVID-19 disease most of the patients experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. As it is highly contagious disease prevention and slowdown of transmission of COVID-19 virus, is paramount. Practice respiratory etiquette can prevent COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes, washing hands or using an alcohol-based rub and avoid frequent touching of face. Presently there are no specific vaccines or treatments available for COVID-19. Many ongoing clinical trials evaluating potential treatments.

Coronavirus, Epidemiology, Modes of Transmission, Signs and Symptoms and it's Prevention in Community

Coronavirus has been declared as a global emergency by World Health Organisation. It has been expanding at a great pace and may affect various nations of the world. It is a knocking pandemic. The coronavirus has been named recently as COVID 19 by WHO. China' National Health Commission decided to temporarily call the disease novel coronavirus pneumonia or NCP but as it is zoonotic so cannot be novel for a longer period. COVID 19 means coronavirus disease in 2019. Though we do not need to panic but at the same time we have to be very cautious and take every step that is preventive and protective in nature. Till this time this disease has claimed a total of 2350 lives and the number is still rising, though Chinese health officials are claiming that incidence is reducing and the condition is stabilising. The total number of cases that has been infected by this virus is estimated to be more 75,000 till date and is still increasing gradually. The best way to protect oneself is to cover mouth and nose while being in contact with clients or people suffering from or suspected to be suffering from signs and symptoms as mentioned. Not only will this but hand washing that too frequently will aid in prevention of disease.

An overview of corona virus disease 19 - COVID 19

International Journal of Research in Medical Sciences, 2020

A remerging infectious disease that has caught the entire world unaware. Coronavirus is an enveloped virus having non- segmented positive-sense RNA genome and belongs to the family Coronaviridae. Important modes of transmission are direct contact and respiratory droplets. Though the virus survives on environmental surfaces for varied period of time, it gets easily inactivated by chemical disinfectants .The major clinical features in uncomplicated cases include fever (88%), dry cough (67%), myalgia (14.9%) or fatigue (38%). In the absence of an effective treatment and vaccine, preventive measures like physical distancing, hand hygiene, following respiratory etiquettes & wearing mask assume great importance. Vigourous surveillance, contact tracing and containment can go a long way in controlling the spread of Covid 19.

Pathogenicity of CORONA Virus and Mechanism of Various Vaccines Against COVID-19

The Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) is a pandemic that outbreak from Wuhan China in late 2019 (Yu et al., 2020). It has produced serious disturbances and unprecedented problems around the whole world including in worldwide healthcare systems (S. Chen et al., 2020). Severe corona viral acute syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2) caused severe viral pneumonia which began in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, infected over 120 million individuals and caused 2,66 million deaths on 16 March 2021 (Dong et al., 2020). COVID-19 mainly affects the respiratory system with several symptoms, ranging from moderate rhino rhea to severe dysfunctions in breathing (Huang et al., 2020). Commonly, the coronavirus is more lethal

Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) Outbreak and the Strategy for Prevention

Europasian Journal of Medical Sciences (EJMS), 2020

The Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) is the novel disease of the respiratory system, causing the ongoing pandemic with flu-like symptoms. It is caused by a virus known as SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Corona Virus-2). This disease affected entire world and various myths are circulating about its diagnosis, treatment and prevention. The choice for diagnosis should be based on clinical and epidemiological factors and linked to an assessment of the likelihood of infection. A number of rapid diagnostic and serological tests are being used for the detection of suspected COVID-19 cases. However, the sensitivity and specificity of such newly marketed tests have not been evaluated and never up to standard yet. Therefore, it is not recommended any such immunochromatographic or serological rapid screening tests for the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infections. The most reliable diagnostic test to confirm COVID-19 is PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) which is a molecular-based test for the detection of SARS-CoV-2. Eradication of highly contagious SARS-CoV-2 Virus that causing the ongoing deadly pandemic COVID-19, demands individual attention and awareness are necessary regarding the route and mode of transmission across the bounders throughout the entire world. Proper hand-washing, staying at the home and maintaining the social distance are proved to the most effective preventive measures and are immediate solutions to save human beings from this unseen enemy.
