— In the current world of automobile, gear shifting system are basically classified into manually and automatic. Gear shifting system plays crucial role in automobile to vary the speed. So automatic gear shifting system is costly than manually gear shifts system but manually gear shifting system is difficult to understand for handicap people or it take physical effort to change gear. To overcome this disadvantage we try to apply touch screen based automatic gear shifting system. In that system by touch on touch screen panel gear is shift. By applying this gear shifting system it gives cost reduction in compare of automatic gear shift system and flexible or simple then manually gear shift system, and by applying this system on automobile it's easier to drive car for everyone. It also reduces the possibility of transmission error of manual gear system. The purpose of this research is to reduce physical effort of human being and they can concentrate only in driving and prevent the accidents. In present report we studied literature review biased on this review we define transmission system and gear shifting mechanism to modify a manual gear shifting mechanism.

The article presents the development of the construction of gearboxes used in passenger cars. The aspect of fuel consumption of these components is taken into consideration. The paper focuses on the overall efficiency of a manual, automatic and continuously variable transmissions (CVT) . It is noted that the manual transmissions continue to be found in the group of the most economical ones.

Energy consumption and delay incurred in packet delivery are the two important metrics for measuring the performance of geographic routing protocols for Wireless Adhoc and Sensor Networks (WASN). A protocol capable of ensuring both lesser energy consumption and experiencing lesser delay in packet delivery is thus suitable for networks which are delay sensitive and energy hungry at the same time. Thus a smart packet forwarding technique addressing both the issues is thus the one looked for by any geographic routing protocol. In the present paper we have proposed a Fermat point based forwarding technique which reduces the delay experienced during packet delivery as well as the energy consumed for transmission and reception of data packets.

Systems in vehicles are being modified due to current technological trends. One of the commonest modified systems in vehicles was the transmission system. This study presented views of drivers on preference for automatic or manual transmission vehicles in Ghana. In all, data was collected from 1260 drivers selected randomly through survey, in-depth interviews and six focus group discussions. The study indicated that manual transmission vehicles were more in Ghana with the automatic now gaining relative patronage. However, automatic transmission vehicles were preferred by females than males. The first three factors that determined preference for automatic transmission were shifting quality, easy to use and power (engine) performance. However, for manual transmission vehicles repairability (easily reparable), reliability and better fuel economy were the first three factors that determined driver’s choice for such vehicles. The results further showed that most respondents believed...

This investigation utilizes energy analysis and statistical methods to optimize step gear automatic transmissions gear selection for fuel consumption. A full factorial matrix of simulations using energy analysis was performed to determine the optimal number of gears and gear ratios that provide the best fuel consumption performance for a particular vehicle – engine application. The full factorial matrix setup as a design of experiment (DOE) was applied to five vehicle applications, each with two engines to examine the potential differences that variations in road load and engine characteristics might have on optimal transmission gearing selection. The transmission gearing options considered in the DOE were number of gears, launch gear ratio and top gear ratio. Final drive ratio was also included due to its global influence on vehicle performance and powertrain operating speeds and torque. An enterprise approach for vehicle fleet balancing of fuel consumption objectives based upon selection of automatic transmission gearing strategy is presented. Monte Carlo simulations for the influence of parasitic loss uncertainty for the automatic transmissions selected from the generalized DOE were conducted to determine the range of fuel consumption that might be realized in production. Specifically, the focus of uncertainty analysis was on automatic transmission parasitic loss variation that might be encountered due to manufacturing and assembly. The overall findings of the investigation show that the optimal number of transmission gears begins to plateau above 8 speeds and reaches a minimum at 10 speeds, but gearing selection is highly dependent on vehicle and engine application. Automatic transmission gearing parameter selection was unaffected by the variation introduced by the Monte Carlo simulations, but did show fuel consumption performance to vary upwards of 9 g CO2/km depending on applications and to have a direct impact on powertrain operating parameters.
