This paper discusses the “Language Use” pattern of ISL by the deaf community. This paper aims to understand the vitality of sign language within the community and to foresee whether ISL is likely to be maintained in coming future. As proposed by Boehm (1997:67), “The choices people make in regard to language use reflect trend towards either language maintenance and language shift. To some extent, this reveals the vitality of the language. Fase et al. (1992:6) says that, “It has been commonly found that when the mother tongue of the minority language remains dominant in communication within the ethnic group, it can be said that mother tongue has been maintained.” This survey also deals with the major issue faced by the deaf community in this speech dominant society, which is huge “communication gap” with the majority speaking people of our society.

This paper explores the evolving landscape of English Language Teaching (ELT) in rural India, emphasizing the critical need for proficiency in English as a means of social and economic advancement. With rural areas contributing significantly less to the GDP despite their large population, enhancing English literacy is essential for human development. The papertraces the historical roots of ELT methodologies, from the Grammar-Translation Method to contemporary approaches like Communicative Language Teaching and task-based learning. It highlights the transformative potential of integrating modern technology, including e-learning platforms and digital tools, to create engaging and inclusive educational experiences. The significance of cultural relevance in teaching through literature and community engagement is also discussed. The research aims to provide educators, policymakers, and scholars with insights into effective strategies for fostering communicative competence in students. Ultimately, the study advocates for a holistic approach that prioritizes collaboration, lifelong learning, and cultural sensitivity inELT, aiming to equip learners with the language skills necessary for navigating a globalized world while fostering mutual respect and understanding.

This paper explores the relationships between place, identity, and healing in Days at the Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa and My Name is Cinnamon by Vikas Prakash Joshi. Despite their different cultures, the protagonists of both books are introverted and use peaceful spatial exploration to reestablish their identities. Takako finds comfort in a used bookstore, while Roshan investigates the background of his adoption and the meaning of his namesake spice. This study illustrates how these texts depict self-discovery as a slow process entwined with place, where physical environments and selected familial ties work together to promote healing, using frameworks from postcolonial theory, human geography, and narrative medicine. In contrast to the frequently sensationalist inclinations of contemporary literature, the novels emphasize gentleness as an aesthetic and ethical approach rather than dramatic trauma. They both emphasize isolation, sensory detail, and gradual development, which reveals a universal truth: healing begins in the tiny, hallowed places we make for ourselves.

The intrinsic nexus between man and society is apparently oblivious and impervious to
many people despite the huge quantum that circumvented its basic responsibilities and
immense rotes in society. The paradoxical attitudes of man in engaging in social vices and
illicit characters have given birth to decay in society. However, social change or
sociocultural evolutions might be necessary to restore normalcy and social Order. Nigerian
Arabic poets since the l9th Century have engaged in utilizing their poems for social change
through socio-cultural, religious-economic, scientific or technological forces. The
theoretical framework in this paper will be examined through the Heraclitan model, which
is parallel to that of a living organism. That is, in Order to remain alive, there must be
constant changes. A Contemporary application of this approach is shown in the social-
change theory called seed-scale, which builds up the complexity theory as a subfield
of emergence. Therefore, the thrust of this paper is to examine the societal depravity as
elucidated in Ibn Yüsufs anthology and proffers a contrapuntal criticism of it. Before
delving into the main discussion, the paper examines the concepts of existentialism and
realism as a philosophical interface. Likewise, the issues of man and social change and an
Overview of Nigerian Arabic poetry are discussed. Ibn Yüsufs biography, scholarship and
the review of his anthology are also studied The paper concludes by critically examining
contrapuntal criticism of societal depravity through Ibn Yüsufs anthology.

Autotheories tells the story of a field in formation. Building on traditions that have long fused life writing, philosophical encounter, embodied theorizing, and cultural critique, autotheory constructs new practices of critical theory. Transgressing generic boundaries and bridging stylistic registers, it crafts language that is intimate, analytic, playful, and insurgent. Editors Alex Brostoff and Vilashini Cooppan underscore autotheory's multiple genealogies and genre-bending forms while situating it within the contemporary political field. In this collection, autotheory emerges as a strut (of style), a straddle (of disciplines), a proliferation (of selves), an axis (of identifications), an index (of attachments), and an archive (of loves). An assemblage and an experience, Autotheories surveys the field's iterations and permutations. Without settling for classification or bowing to ossification, Autotheories invites you to its discursive play.

This article explores the transformation of humans from flesh to code by analyzing movies Wonderland and Uglies through the lens of Post humanism. It discusses the impact of Artificial intelligence and technological advancement on human's sense of identity. The visionary perfect world that technological advancement claims in terms of appearance, equality, communication and almost every aspect of human life makes people feel insecure about their real lives and their natural selves. Over-reliance on technology does not only assist humans but also imposes threats on humanity by altering the actual meaning of being human. Through a close analysis of character's circumstances in movies Wonderland and Uglies, it discusses the multiple ways through which technology is destroying pure connections of love and friendship among humans. Technological advancements are supposed to help and facilitate humans not to replace them. The study suggests that machines and technological elements cannot eliminate the true essence of humanity. This research emphasizes the need for a balanced and ethical relationship between humans and machines as stated by the Posthumanism theory. This study is relevant to today's social and global concerns and will also help the researchers and educators who want to explore and further study the theory of Posthumanism.

This research closely examines the anti-imperialist narrative of Burkina Faso's President Ibrahim Traore in his bold speeches. Traore is a young emerging voice of Africa which critiques the western dominance in Africa's internal affairs using financial and military aids as a tool. Neocolonial theoretical framework has been used to uncover the resistance and history behind Traore's stance. Concepts of famous scholars like Kwame Nkrumah, Frank and Walter Rodney have been employed in the research to have a deeper understanding of western tactics which they use to control the world. Great concepts of Pan-Africanism and anti-imperial resistance started their legacy from Thomas Sankara and still persist in Africa in the form of Ibrahim Traore. He uncovers the mask of sophisticated global platforms like World Bank and IMF which in Traore's view are just sources to manipulate and control the developing countries. This research emphasizes that Traore's speeches are not merely the critique of western elites, but they are a call to decolonize Africa both financially and ideologically. This study contributes to the ongoing debates of western unnecessary influence on countries like Nigeria and Burkina Faso, contributing to the awareness of global politics and dark realities behind apparently harmless institutions.

The concept of "remnant" or "remainder" holds a special place in Giorgio Agamben's philosophy. Across his discussions of language/law, bios/zoe, and potentiality/ impotentiality, Agamben dismantles binary oppositions through the concept of 'remainder, ' focusing on the zone of indistinction that exceeds division and dialectical thinking. The concept of remainder, which functions as a key in the thought of Agamben, is also the title of Tom McCarthy's debut novel Remainder (2005). The novel unfolds the story of an unnamed thirty-year-old man whose life takes a dramatic turn after an accident involving "something falling from the sky. " Following his emergence from a coma, he finds himself in a threshold where he is a remnant of his former identity. For months, he endeavours to recover both his memory and motor control with the expectation that he will eventually return to a semblance of normalcy. But contrary to expectations, he develops a fixation on recreating, re-enacting, and simulating specific scenes and situations that linger in his memory as disjointed images. From Agamben's standpoint, he might be approached as the 'remainder' of the human/inhuman binary, akin to a 'remnant' during the time of the end, a parody of the sovereign who suspends law to create his state of exception, or a 'kink' in the smoothly operating system of simulations. This paper offers a reading of Tom McCarthy's Remainder from Giorgio Agamben's perspective and provides an analysis of its eccentric character's relationship with time, space, and reality by delving into the threshold he occupies.

Kamala Das is one of the best Indian English poets of any time. She occupies a dignified place in the Indian poetry in English. She has an authentic voice of modern tradition and identity. Das is one of the pioneers of Indian poetry along with Nissim Ezekiel and A.K. Ramanujam who liberated from outmoded diction. Kamala Das vision of life is tragic and pessimistic. She has lost all her originality, naturalness, freedom and identity in the male dominated world which made her life gloomy. Kamala Das poetry is not only personal but also impersonal or universal. The most distinguished feature of Das poetry is frankness which she talks about male and female bodies and their functions and sex. She has a strong passion to dominate to establish her identity to assert her sovereignty. She writes with striking individuality and freshness of her own. Das never accepts inferiority and rejects all conventions. For Kamala Das, nothing is dearer than her freedom.

The introduction highlights the many intersections between life writing and world literature, which can foster interdisciplinary research and mutual enrichment. Lenart-Cheng and Luca argue that life writing is distinct from other literary genres in that life writing is also an embodied and material praxis. Our personal stories do not just circulate in the world but are of the world in the sense that they have the power to open its possibilities. This “worlding” power of life writing calls for a multifocal understanding of world literature in which the categorization of a narrative as belonging to the world is not secondary to its emergence. The first half traces the historical convergence of these two fields and asks why world literature scholars tend to neglect autobiographical genres. The second half offers an overview of the chapters, underscoring the role of life writing in redefining assumptions about the ethics, canons, media, and pedagogy of world literature.

In his speech Pro Scauro, Cicero mentions two Roman citizens, T. Albucius and C. Megaboccus, who were convicted ex Sardinia for maladministration. While T. Albucius is well known thanks to other testimonies by Cicero, both the identity of C. Megaboccus as well as the date of his command in Sardinia remain a mystery. As some scholars have pointed out, it is probable that the governor cited by Cicero was a direct forebear or even the father of the young Μεγάβακχος who, according to Plutarch, died alongside P. Licinius Crassus in the Battle of Carrhae, which would allow us to propose an approximate date for his governorship in Sardinia. All indications are that Megaboccus was not actually a nomen gentilis, moreover, but a cognomen of uncertain etymology. With these considerations in mind, the intention of this paper is to shed some light on the biography of this mysterious C. Megaboccus.

Nueva narrativa argentina; especulación; parodia; frontera interior.

Literary theory serves as the foundational framework for contemporary research in English literature, offering and exploring perspectives to interrogate, interpret, and analyse texts. Theories such as Formalism, Structuralism, Post-Structuralism, Feminism, New Historicism, Post-colonialism, Eco-criticism and Marxism enable contemporary researchers to explore the relationship between literature, culture, identity society. Formalism relates to the structure of a literary text; Feminism emphasises the representation of women in literature; Marxism seeks to find and analyse class struggle and the exploitation of workers at the hands of the capitalists; Post-Structuralism deconstructs traditional ideas of meaning and truth. Post-Colonial studies analyse literary works in the context of colonial dominance and the experiences of the colonized. The study underscores how literary theory fosters interdisciplinary dialogues, enabling scholars to address issues such as power dynamics, gender issues, environmental crises and cultural hybridity through literary analysis. Thenotions associated with literary writings as being divinely inspired have been challenged and deconstructed. A literary text is just like any other text in social sciences and makes sense only in its cultural matrix. This paper argues that literary theory enriches the understanding of a text by pointing to its origin and the interplay of power equations and the cultural context. Moreover, Literary theories have in a way refined research. Earlier, researchers had to depend entirely on tracing influences, relating the works to the biographies of the authors and wrote impressionistic critiques. With literary theories on the scene, researchers enjoy greater freedom in choosing authors, to select texts that reflect and co-relate with the tenets of a specific theoretical configuration. The research fits into a spectrum and becomes part of a body of research in a particular field. Earlier, research, however brilliant the Critique might have been, remained an isolated piece of criticism.

In the context of postcolonial Nigerian theatre, Oba Mosebolatan by Kehinde Akano offers a powerful dramatization of conflict, identity, and cultural politics. This paper explores how the playwright critiques elite authoritarianism and reimagines communal justice through indigenous Yoruba aesthetics such as chants, ritual performances, and masquerades. Using Marxist literary theory and cultural theory as analytical lenses, the study examines how Akano stages power, resistance, and reconciliation, offering a unique model of governance rooted in ancestral ethics and performative tradition. The analysis reveals that conflict resolution in Akano's drama is not only ideological but symbolic and restorative-underscoring the value of indigenous cultural frameworks in addressing contemporary African socio-political crises.

This book presents a comprehensive and comparative study of Greek didactic poetry from the Hellenistic period (ca. 350–30 B.C.).
