Όλες οι έρευνες, οι μελέτες και οι συναφείς δημοσιεύσεις του καθηγητή και τέως Πρύτανη του Πανεπιστημίου Ιωαννίνων Γ. Δ. Καψάλη, οι οποίες αφορούν τη λογοτεχνία για παιδιά και νέους αποτελούν ουσιαστικές συμβολές στην έρευνα και τη μελέτη κρίσιμων ζητημάτων του πεδίου αυτού. Είναι ποικιλότροπα πολύτιμες εργασίες συστηματικής και επίμοχθης έρευνας, βιβλιογραφικής αναζήτησης και διεισδυτικής εξέτασης, άρτιες μεθοδολογικά και διατυπωμένες υποδειγματικά, με στέρεη επιστημονική γλώσσα και ορολογία, με αποτέλεσμα να εμπλουτίζουν τη σχετική βιβλιογραφία. Συνιστούν συγχρόνως έγκυρες, πρωτότυπες και προσωπικές καταθέσεις ενός έγκριτου επιστήμονα και ακάματου εργάτη του πνεύματος για την επιστημονική προσέγγιση της αισθητικής και της παιδαγωγικής διάστασης της παιδικής λογοτεχνίας, η οποία τα τελευταία χρόνια διάγει μια από τις πιο ευχάριστες και δημιουργικές φάσεις της, τόσο ερευνητικά όσο και συγγραφικά-παραγωγικά.

Diese Arbeit unternimmt den Versuch, Österreichs diplomatisches Vorgehen gegenüber Griechenland während der Militärdiktatur von 1967 bis 1974 neu zu analysieren. Im Rahmen der New Diplomatic History wird gezeigt, dass Österreich in dieser Zeit zwar häufig realpolitisch agierte, das griechische Regime verdeckt unterstützte oder wirtschaftlich in dessen Strukturen investierte. Dennoch kam es zu Belastungen im bilateralen Verhältnis zwischen Wien und Athen. Dazu trugen insbesondere die antidiktatorischen Aktivitäten griechischer Studierender in Österreich sowie das Engagement von Bruno Pittermann, dem Präsidenten der Sozialistischen Internationale, bei. Diese inoffiziellen diplomatischen Akteure wirkten maßgeblich auf die griechisch-österreichischen Beziehungen ein und führten zu erheblichen Spannungen – ohne jedoch einen völligen Bruch zwischen beiden Staaten herbeizuführen.

Η παρούσα εργασία επιχειρεί να καταγράψει την αναπαράσταση στον ελληνικό
κινηματογράφο του φαινομένου της μετανάστευσης. Αρχικά αναφέρει τον τρόπο με
τον οποίο ο παγκόσμιος κινηματογράφος ασχολείται με το φαινόμενο και στη συνέχεια περιγράφει τον τρόπο που ο ελληνικός κινηματογράφος το προσέγγισε. Τέλος, αναλύονται δυο ταινίες του νέου ελληνικού κινηματογράφου που περιγράφουν
ιστορίες μεταναστών στην Ελλάδα.

The Diplomatic Archives of France preserve part of the original letters and the archives of the French consular agency (later vice-consulate) of Dedeagatch (Alexandroupoli, Greece). The oldest archival material consists of some letters sent by the consular agent Joseph Sapet to the French embassy in Constantinople during the period 1874-1879. More precisely, Sapet held the title of consular agent of France in Enos (Enez, Turkey), but had settled in Dedeagatch since September 1874; at the same time, he also served as a representative of the French steamship company Messageries Maritimes. His letters shed light on the conditions that prevailed in Dedeagatch during the early years of its development, but above all they offer us important testimonies about the situation of the city during the Russo-Ottoman War (1877-1878) and the subsequent brief Russian occupation.

Πρόβα, τότε. O Σκηνοθέτης προβάρει τον αρχικό μονόλογο του Ριχάρδου Γ΄ του Ουίλιαμ Σαίξπηρ. ΡΙΧΑΡΔΟΣ Η χειμωνιάτικη δυσαρέσκειά μας έγινε τώρα φωτεινό καλοκαίρι από τον ήλιο του Γιoρκ. Κι όλα τα σύννεφα που σκοτείνιαζαν τον οίκο μας είναι θαμμένα βαθιά μες στον ωκεανό. Στα κεφάλια μας τώρα υπάρχουν στεφάνια νίκης και τα όπλα μας κρέμονται κουρασμένα στους τοίχους. Τα πολεμικά προσκλητήρια έχουν γίνει προσκλητήρια για πανηγύρια και γιορτές κι οι δύσκολες πορείες, γλέντια και χοροί. Από το μέτωπο του πολέμου αρχίζουν να σβήνουν οι ρυτίδες κι οι στρατιώτες μας, αντί να είναι πάνω σε άλογα σιδερόφραχτα και να γεμίζουν με φόβο τις ψυχές των εχθρών, τώρα με συνοδεία απαλής μουσικής αγκομαχούν σε κάμαρες γυναικών. Όμως εγώ δεν κάνω για αυτά. Ούτε παριστάνω τον ωραίο μπροστά στον καθρέφτη. Δεν είμαι, και το ξέρω, Σε έναν κόσμο σκληρό γεννημένος πρόωρα, βγήκα κακοφτιαγμένος, τόσο άχαρος, που μέχρι και τα σκυλιά γαβγίζουν στο πέρασμά μου. Αφού λοιπόν η φύση μού στέρησε την ομορφιά, για να περνώ τις ώρες μου ευχάριστα αποφάσισα κι εγώ να εχθρεύομαι όλα τα καλά που προσφέρει μια εποχή ειρηνική. Σκορπώντας ψεύτικες προφητείες, ονειρομαντείες, συκοφαντίες… έχω βάλει σε εφαρμογή σχέδια σκοτεινά. Θα βγάλω από τη μέση τον αδελφό μου Κλάρενς. Σε λίγο οι φύλακες θα τον οδηγήσουν στον πύργο, εκεί από όπου δεν θα ξαναβγεί ποτέ. Και όταν τον πάρει στον ουρανό ο Θεός, μακάρι να καλέσει γρήγορα και τον άλλο μου αδελφό, τον άρρωστο βασιλιά Εδουάρδο, και να μ' αφήσουν εμένα ελεύθερο στον κόσμο αυτόν να αλωνίζω. Ως τότε θα έχω παντρευτεί τη Λαίδη Άννα. Τι κι αν σκότωσα τους αγαπημένους της πεθερό και σύζυγο. Υπάρχει καλύτερος τρόπος να αποζημιώσω τη γυναίκα αυτή απ' το να γίνω εγώ ο άντρας της; Και θα την πάρω, όχι από έρωτα, αλλά γιατί είναι μέρος των σχεδίων μου που σίγουρα θα πετύχω, όταν την παντρευτώ. Όμως ας μην προτρέχω. Ο αδελφός μου Κλάρενς ακόμα ανασαίνει, Ο μεγάλος μου αδελφός Εδουάρδος ακόμα βασιλεύει. Όταν με το καλό βγουν και οι δυο απ' τη μέση, το κέρδος που θα μείνει θα είναι τόσο μεγάλο που τίποτα άλλο δεν θα 'χει σημασία. 2. Τώρα. Ο Άντρας προς το κοινό. ΑΝΤΡΑΣ: Αυτό που θα σας πω έγινε πριν από πολλά χρόνια. Είχα μόλις τελειώσει τη σχολή υποκριτικής και έψαχνα κάπου να παίξω. Είχα πάει σε κάποιες οντισιόν, αλλά δεν είχε γίνει κάτι. Δούλευα σε ένα καφέ, αλλά το όνειρό μου ήταν να γίνω ηθοποιός. Αν ήθελα να γίνω σερβιτόρος, δεν θα ερχόμουν στην Αθήνα. Οι γονείς μου το 'χαν πάρει στραβά που έφυγα, φοβόντουσαν μήπως μπλέξω. Παρ'όλα αυτά η μητέρα μου μου έστελνε κρυφά χρήματα για να πληρώνω τα δίδακτρα της σχολής. Είχα πιάσει και σπίτι μαζί με έναν συμφοιτητή μου, για να μοιραζόμαστε τα έξοδα. Εγώ από παιδί έβλεπα συνέχεια τηλεόραση, στη σχολή αγάπησα το θέατρο. Μια μέρα ο συγκάτοικός μου μου είπε για την οντισιόν του «Ριχάρδου του Γ΄». Το ήξερα αυτό το έργο, το 'χαμε κάνει στο τελευταίο έτος. Πήγαμε μαζί. Ο σκηνοθέτης εκείνον τον έκοψε με τη μία, εμένα μου είπε να ετοιμάσω έναν μονόλογο και να πάω λίγες μέρες μετά να του τον πω. ΡΙΧΑΡΔΟΣ ΙΙΙ* ΑΝΔΡΕΑΣ ΦΛΟΥΡΑΚΗΣ 5 3. Τότε. Ο Νεαρός και ο Σκηνοθέτης σε θέατρο. Ο Νεαρός υποδύεται τον Κλάρενς. Κι όμως ο αδελφός μας τις πίστεψε. Κι επειδή το όνομα του υποτιθέμενου φονιά αρχίζει με Κ, το ίδιο γράμμα που αρχίζει το δικό μου όνομα, του κόλλησε στο μυαλό πως είμαι εγώ ο δολοφόνος. Εμένα τώρα πάνε στον πύργο οι φρουροί. Εμένα, τον αδελφό του, που του έχω σταθεί περισσότερο από τον καθένα, που έχω πολεμήσει στο πλευρό του, που έχω σκοτώσει για να ανέβει στον θρόνο, που ούτε μια στιγμή δεν μου πέρασε από το μυαλό να γίνω εγώ στη θέση του βασιλιάς. Όμως να που τώρα στο δικό του μυαλό είμαι ένοχος, κι ας μην έχει γίνει έγκλημα κανένα. Στις μέρες μας κανείς δεν είναι ασφαλής, παρά μόνο οι συγγενείς της βασίλισσας και οι βραδινοί αγγελιοφόροι. ΣΚΗΝΟΘΕΤΗΣ: Ευχαριστώ. ΝΕΑΡΟΣ: Κι εγώ. [Ο Νεαρός κάνει να φύγει, γυρίζει απότομα. ] Εμένα να πάρετε, δεν θα το μετανιώσετε. We analyse economic and political developments in Greece for the period 2010-2015, after the introduction of the memoranda agreements between Greece, the European Union (EU), the European central Bank (ECB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). We suggest that a vicious cycle took place, whereby austerity measures, badly implemented programs, mistakes of economic policy, unwillingness on the part of the Greek governments to implement structural reforms, and political immaturity from both politicians and citizens led to the failure of the memoranda and furthered political instability. We introduce a game theoretical approach as a model for the “European game” played by Greece and the EU and the complex and confused situation and diverging aims among the major participants: Greece, Germany, the USA, France, the Baltic States, Finland, the IMF, etc. as well as a presentation of the June 5th referendum in Greece. Tο 2010 ανέκυψε στη δημοσιότητα το ζήτημα της «ελληνικής κρίσης», με την Ελλάδα να μπαίνει στην ατζέντα των ειδησεογραφικών δικτύων παγκοσμίως σχεδόν σε καθημερινή βάση· σύντομα, η δημοσιότητα αυτή πήρε πολύ κακόβουλη τροπή, ιδίως στη διετία 2011- 2012. Το αφήγημα που επικράτησε για την ελληνική κρίση εννοιολογήθηκε μέσα από διάφορα προϋπάρχοντα υποτιμητικά στερεότυπα, τα οποία τώρα αξιοποιήθηκαν για να στηθεί μια άγρια επίθεση στο σύνολο του ελληνικού λαού – αν και στην πραγματικότητα στο στόχαστρο βρέθηκαν κυρίως τα μεσαία και κατώτερα κοινωνικά στρώματα. Η ελληνική κρίση παρουσιάστηκε στα διεθνή αναγνωστικά και τηλεοπτικά κοινά με ιδιαίτερα λεπτομερή (όσο και αποσπασματικό) τρόπο: ελληνικά και διεθνή ΜΜΕ θεαματικοποίησαν την κρίση, παράγοντας συγκεκριμένες νοηματικές αλληλουχίες που «αποκάλυπταν» την πραγματικότητα στην Ελλάδα, εστιάζοντας σε αρνητικές πληροφορίες που αποδείκνυαν τον «αυτοπαθή» χαρακτήρα της ελληνικής κρίσης, η οποία υποτίθεται πως είχε προκληθεί από «τους ίδιους τους Έλληνες». Σε εποχές έντονης αβεβαιότητας, η δημοσιότητα της «ελληνικής κρίσης» παρήγαγε οδυνηρά αποτελέσματα· διάβρωσε σχέσεις μεταξύ λαών και υπονόμευσε δυνατότητες αλληλεγγύης.
Η μελέτη εστιάζει ακριβώς στο πεδίο της δημόσιας κατασκευής της ελληνικής κρίσης, έτσι όπως νοηματοδοτήθηκε από φιλελεύθερους πολιτικούς και διανοούμενους, στοχεύοντας στην ανάλυση μεγάλων ενημερωτικών μέσων τριών χωρών της ΕΕ που αντιπροσωπεύουν το κέντρο και την περιφέρεια της τελευταίας. Στις σελίδες που ακολουθούν σκιαγραφούνται κριτικά τα βασικά και μόνιμα χα- ρακτηριστικά του ηγεμονικού λόγου της κρίσης. Τα χαρακτηριστικά αυτά προϋπήρχαν της κρίσης και διατηρούνται στη μετά-την-κρίση εποχή. Αφορούν συγκεκριμένα νοήματα που κανονικοποιούν και αναπαράγουν τις άνισες κοινωνικές και πολιτικές σχέσεις μεταξύ κέντρου και (ημι)περιφέρειας.

2025, Politics and Governance

The association between contemporary populism and demagoguery is frequent, both in academic literature and political debate. However, the scholarly attention devoted to the latter is considerably less than that given to the former. This is a peculiar situation considering that demagoguery has been a primary concern for political thinkers since classical Greece. Even when not explicitly discussed, the question of demagoguery was an underlying concern framing discussions on pivotal themes like political leadership, public rhetoric, tensions between oligarchic and popular factions, and the nature of the best regime. This raises the question of how historical conceptions of demagoguery align with contemporary theories of populism and whether relevant differences between them can deepen our understanding of both phenomena. The first part of the article reconstructs the classical conception of demagoguery focusing on its treatment by two of its most influential theorists, Plato and Aristotle. For them, demagoguery was a corrupted political form in which popular power turns into tyranny under unprincipled leaders exacerbating divisions between popular and oligarchic factions. Building on this historical analysis, the second part of the article compares the ancient conception of demagoguery and contemporary theories of populism focusing on the three primary aspects around which the current debate revolves: ideology, political style, and institutions and forms of organization.

This article seeks to present the evolution of relations between Greece and the People’s Republic of China and explain it within the context of the two states’ foreign policy, following the resumption of diplomatic relations in 1972 and until the visit of Greek Prime Minister Konstantinos Karamanlis to Beijing, in November 1979. On the basis of Greek and US primary sources and extant bibliography, it argues that, the obvious asymmetry in size, potential, and international impact notwithstanding, both sides perceived a mutual interest in furthering their diplomatic contacts. The Karamanlis government primarily aimed at exploring the potential of economic exchange, while seeking Beijing’s understanding of Greek positions on matters of national interest, not least Greek-Turkish relations and Balkan co-operation. The Chinese leadership primarily aimed at furthering security objectives and encouraged Greece’s closer identification with NATO and the European Communities, considering both as a welcome counter and diversion in the ongoing Sino-Soviet rivalry. The fact that a communist regime advocated the cohesion of the capitalist West at a time when Greece’s leading opposition party was casting doubt on the country’s ties with the West is indicative of the decline of ideology as a foreign policy determinant during the fourth Cold War decade.

This paper focuses on the structure of mediatized discourses on the former Greek minister of finance Yanis Varoufakis, which are labeled Varoufakiology. Through a multimodal discourse analysis of cartoons and photographs, which have been collected systematically in social and mainstream media through hypermedia ethnography, it is argued that neolectal stylistic features, including body posture, clothing and negotiation style are the emerging themes that prevail in mediatized communication with and about Varoufakis. In unison, they create a sense of semiotic vernacularization, translated into interacting linguistic and semiotic simplification, boldness and unconventionality associated with a controversial and multidimensional personality with intense and impactful political, academic and popular activity. In this sense, the overall argument put forward is that this mediatized vernacularization is not only a linguistic but also a widely semiotic type of communication, which reframes and positions Varoufakis as a political leader brought to light through controversial aspects of his identity, leadership and politics.

This article discusses recent developments within the Greek right-wing party, New Democracy, specifically, the intention of the former party leader and former prime minister, Antonis Samaras, to found a new party. I argue that this move is in line with the intention of the current Minister of Defence, Nikos Dendias, to succeed the present prime minister, Mitsotakis, in the party leadership. The intention is to make ground for a post-electoral government coalition of the two parties. Although this does not offer anything to the Greek people and their needs, it manifests the crisis in the Greek political system. (Paron 1/6/2025)

From the perspective of Political Science, the concepts of political systems and government leadership offer useful research tools by which we may study the substantial changes upon political life in Europe. There is a sharp decrease of civic trust in political institutions and the political staff and of the interest in political affairs in general, while some of the fundamental democratic principles are being challenged. The stability of the political systems stems from their capacity to transform claims about public problems into efficient policies with a view to securing the sustainability of the state and the resilience of democratic institutions. Stability is not synonymous with stagnation. On the contrary, much like a computer system, a political system needs regular upgrade of its institutions (“hardware”) as much as of each public policies (“software”) in order to catch-up with rapid changes and challenges. Guiding policy and institutional adaptation is the overarching responsibility of government leadership, and the ultimate criterion for its assessment. In the context of the European Union (EU), government leaderships have the advantage of sharing competencies and some indispensable resources. In the meantime, a common framework is set-up for the comparative assessment of government efficiency in accordance with the common tasks and the specific data of policy results. In the present textbook, three specific cases will be distinguished - Greece, France and Germany - which make explicit the different kinds of challenges for government leaderships, the specific factors of destabilization and the significance of a systematic assessment of government efficiency especially with regard to economic governance in the EU.
Από τη σκοπιά της Πολιτικής Επιστήμης, οι έννοιες του πολιτικού συστήματος και της κυβερνητικής ηγεσίας μάς προσφέρουν χρήσιμα ερευνητικά εργαλεία για να διερευνήσουμε τις ουσιαστικές μεταβολές της πολιτικής ζωής στην Ευρώπη. Είναι έκδηλη η υποχώρηση της εμπιστοσύνης στους πολιτικούς θεσμούς και στο πολιτικό προσωπικό, καθώς και η υποχώρηση εν γένει του πολιτικού ενδιαφέροντος, αλλά και η αμφισβήτηση θεμελιωδών δημοκρατικών αρχών. Η ισορροπία των πολιτικών συστημάτων απορρέει από τη διατήρηση της ικανότητάς τους να μετασχηματίζουν τα αιτήματα σχετικά με δημόσια προβλήματα σε αποδοτικές πολιτικές με γνώμονα τη βιωσιμότητα του κράτους και την ανθεκτικότητα των δημοκρατικών θεσμών. Η ισορροπία δεν ταυτίζεται με τη στασιμότητα. Αντιθέτως, όπως ακριβώς συμβαίνει με έναν υπολογιστή, ένα πολιτικό σύστημα πρέπει να κάνει τακτική αναβάθμιση των θεσμών (το “hardware”) και των δημόσιων πολιτικών (“λογισμικό”) προκειμένου να ανταποκριθεί στις ραγδαίες αλλαγές και προκλήσεις. Η καθοδήγηση της προσαρμογής των θεσμών και των πολιτικών είναι η βασική ευθύνη της κυβερνητικής ηγεσίας και ο βασικός δείκτης αξιολόγησής της. Στο πλαίσιο της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης (EE) οι κυβερνητικές ηγεσίες διευκολύνονται για τον σκοπό αυτό μέσω του διαμοιρασμού των αρμοδιοτήτων και αναντικατάστατων πόρων. Ταυτόχρονα, δημιουργείται ένα πλαίσιο συγκριτικής αξιολόγησης της κυβερνητικής αποτελεσματικότητας σύμφωνα με τους κοινούς στόχους και τα εξειδικευμένα δεδομένα για τα αποτελέσματα πολιτικής. Στο παρόν σύγγραμμα, θα μελετηθούν τρεις ειδικότερες περιπτώσεις – η Ελλάδα, η Γαλλία και η Γερμανία – οι οποίες αναδεικνύουν τις διαφορετικές όψεις των προκλήσεων για τις κυβερνητικές ηγεσίες, τους ειδικότερους παράγοντες αποσταθεροποίησης και τη σημασία της συστηματικής αξιολόγησης της αποδοτικότητας με βασικό άξονα την οικονομική διακυβέρνηση στην ΕΕ.

The financial crisis affected economies across the world, but the recovery from the crisis has varied significantly, with some countries quickly returning to growth and others remaining in a prolonged period of stagnation. Mark Crosby writes on the lessons that Australia’s handling of the crisis could have for Europe. He notes that many of the reforms that allowed Australia to weather the crisis followed a similar rationale to those contained in the EU’s Lisbon Agenda, outlined in 2000. Unlike Australia, however, the EU has suffered from a crisis in implementation, epitomised by the failure to find a lasting solution to the ongoing debt problem in Greece.

Muriel Blaives Buch „Pandemic Power“ (2025) zeigt eindrücklich, wie die Reaktionen auf die Covid-19-Pandemie nicht nur fragwürdige gesundheitspolitische Maßnahmen hervorgebracht haben, sondern vor allem grundlegende demokratische Prinzipien in Mitleidenschaft zogen. Die Rezension beleuchtet, in welcher Weise Blaive die politischen, institutionellen und gesellschaftlichen Dynamiken während der Krise analysiert und dabei die Demokratie selbst zur Disposition stellt.
Blaive argumentiert, dass die Pandemie als Katalysator für autoritäre Tendenzen diente, wobei Angst und Unsicherheit genutzt wurden, um Grundrechte einzuschränken und den öffentlichen Diskurs zu kontrollieren.
Das Buch beleuchtet, wie wissenschaftliche Expertise instrumentalisiert wurde, um politische Agenden zu legitimieren, und wie dies zu einer Erosion des Vertrauens in demokratische Institutionen führte. Blaive warnt vor den langfristigen Konsequenzen dieser Entwicklungen und fordert eine kritische Reflexion über die Balance zwischen öffentlicher Sicherheit und individuellen Freiheiten.

Pour sortir de la « tripartition », situation politique actuelle, certains, notamment aux extrêmes, suggèrent de rétablir une bipolarisation, dite « vertueuse », entre la gauche et la droit censé éviter le « délitement démocratique », c’est-à-dire prévenir la dégradation de la démocratie et à garantir une alternance entre deux blocs aux programmes très distincts. Cette nouvelle bipolarisation serait dominée par les partis extrêmes, LFI et RN, et soi-disant impliquerait la participation des classes populaires au gouvernement (c’est le côté « vertueux »). Ces partis perçoivent la politique comme un jeu à somme nulle et comme une « guerre par d'autres moyens ». Une telle bipolarisation, entre deux blocs dominés par des partis illibéraux (Orban contre Maduro), mettrait en péril la démocratie libérale. Après la victoire d'un camp et la défaite de l'autre, cela pourrait entraîner un contrôle par le parti gagnant et un changement radical du régime politique, avec des conséquences graves sur l'économie, l'appartenance de la France à l'UE, la stabilité européenne, les relations internationales et la position de la France dans le monde.

The 2023 double parliamentary elections marked an overwhelming victory for New Democracy (ND) and the electoral collapse of the Coalition of the Radical Left (SYRIZA). Having governed through a series of crises – such as the pandemic, the refugee crisis, Greek–Turkish tensions, and the war in Ukraine – ND managed to renew its parliamentary majority in the snap election of June. Whereas ND’s victory was anticipated, though higher than expected, SYRIZA’s magnitude of defeat was unexpected: it experienced a 13.7-point decline from its 2019 result, losing by 20 percentage points to ND. A predominant party system began to emerge for the first time since the 1974 transition to democracy, while the imbalance between the first and second parties and the opposition’s fragmentation undermined the potential for a constructive counterforce. In June 2023 and for the first time in the post-crisis context, all variations of the far-right gained parliamentary representation. Interestingly, the far-right seems to thrive not only in times of financial crisis but also during periods of political and economic stability. In contrast to the centrifugal competition of the financial crisis, electoral competition in May and June was centripetal, with the largest concentration of voters positioned at the centre of the ideological spectrum.

The second part gives an overview of the nationalist theory as has been studied in both current and national/international scholarship in an attempt to investigate even further the literary personality of Palamas. Finally, the article focuses on the analysis of the poem The Hymn o f Athena, discussing Palamas's poetical technique in relation to national aesthetics.
