Professionally,
I’m a Director of Engineering at Google. Nine years ago, I joined Google with a shiny new PhD and a secret hope that the Chrome team would let me rewrite all of their security warnings. While Chrome grew from a small browser into a huge one, I worked on security, built mobile & desktop UI, and founded a data science team. Outside of Google, I'm best known for my work on simplifying security indicators and increasing HTTPS adoption. Today, I lead Chrome Data Science & Engineering, Chrome for iOS, and the Chrome Content Ecosystems team. I write a mixture of tech commentary and observations about daily life on Twitter.
Personally,
I’m passionate about feeding our community through sustainable agriculture. I’m on the Board of Directors for the Second Harvest of Silicon Valley food bank, I’m currently working towards UMass Amherst’s Sustainable Food and Farming degree certificate, and I’m participating in Terra.do’s Climate Farm School in September.
One of my adult goals is to speak Spanish fluently. I grew up in a Spanish-speaking family, but progressively lost the language through disuse in adulthood. I’ve been making an effort to speak Spanish again, and I gave my first professional Spanish-language talk in Uruguay in 2019. I prefer to go by Adriana in Spanish, which is the name my abuela calls me.
My son, Emerson, is the light of my life. My mother is the photographer Sandra Valdez Felt, my sister is the pianist Kathryn Felt, and my father Edward Porter Felt was a software engineer. My husband, Mark, doesn’t like to be on the Internet.
