More Revealed on Monthly Shonen Jump's Aftermath

posted on 2007-06-04 14:40 EDT by Egan Loo

Ultimatum relays more details on the fates of several Monthly Shonen Jump manga titles after that magazine ends with its expanded July issue (on sale June 6). The next installment of Norihiro Yagi's Claymore medieval war fantasy will appear in Weekly Shonen Jump No. 30 (on sale July 2). Masanori Katakura's Kurohime, which Viz Media will publish in North America in September, will serialize on the website of a new publication. This as-yet-unnamed publication will itself serialize a new work from Katakura. The fate of Beet the Vandel Buster, another Viz Media import, has yet to be announced.

Black Love Letter, Tatakae! Tarantera, Etoile, SUREBREC, and Waterline's Shachi will publish their final compiled volumes on August 3, with Etoile's final volume expanding by 50 pages. The final compiled volumes of Buttobi Itto, Dohran, Blue Dragon ST, Mr. Perfect, and Passacaglia [Op.7] will publish on September 4. Takayuki Mizushine's Mizu-Cinema's final volume is planned for September, but no date has been set. Police Dog Kinzō will end after three volumes on October 4.

Monthly Shonen Jump's editors had previously announced that Claymore, Kōsuke Masuda Theater Gag Manga Biyori, Rosario + Vampire, and Letter Bee will be migrating to Weekly Shonen Jump and then to the new, unnamed publication. In related news, the voice cast of the announced Rosario + Vampire anime will be the same as the previously released drama CD's.
