FES2022 Oceanic Tide

The AVISO team is pleased to announce the release of FES2022b (Finite Elements Solution) tidal model. FES2022 has been computed by LEGOS, NOVELTIS and CLS, in the frame of a CNES funded project. The product is based on a hydrodynamic model which assimilates some altimeter data and a few tide gauges.

New version (v4.0) of the Barystatic and manometric sea level changes from satellite gravimetry

The barystatic and manometric products from GRACE have been extended up to September 2023 in the V4.0. Several errors have been fixed in the V4.0, we therefore recommend using the most recent version (V4.0). No changes have been brought to the SLB product (V2.0).

The v1.0 of the SWOT Level-3 (L3_LR_SSH) product is now online on AVISO. This release covers one full year from April 2023 to April 2024 and both phases/orbits of the mission. It is derived from the Level-2 version C and combines the PGC and PIC L2 products with significant upgrade of Level-3 algorithms layers .

Swot close to the coasts

One of Swot's most eagerly awaited results over the oceans lies at their boundaries: close to the coast. Swot observes over its entire swath, thus covering most of coastal areas. Moreover, with the 250-m resolution of the data provided near the coasts, fine-scale details of the coastal ocean dynamics are revealed.
