OneDrive for Business from Microsoft is a cloud-based solution that lets users store, sync, and share work files in the cloud. It is bundled with SharePoint Online and Office 365 business subscription plans.

Users have control over how their content can be shared with others, often by inviting others to view and/or edit an account's shared files or by uploading documents and photos to a shared files folder.

The BA Insight OneDrive Connector makes it possible to index content from OneDrive into various search platforms and surface it through BA Insight’s SmartHub, providing users with integrated search results from multiple sources. This eliminates the need to do multiple searches, which can often cause inconsistent results and lead to decreased productivity. A single consolidated search index referencing OneDrive, along with content from other repositories, is surfaced as a single unified result set, giving users a single access point for searching across the enterprise.

With our connector, any of the mentioned search engines can index content stored in OneDrive, as well as other enterprise systems. In addition to OneDrive, we provide over 90 other connectors.

The BA Insight OneDrive Connector makes it possible to index content from OneDrive into Azure Cognitive Search, Amazon Elasticsearch, Elasticsearch, SharePoint Online/Microsoft Search, SharePoint On-premise or Solr.

Our OneDrive Connector:

• Respects the security schema. This means that users who have sharing/access privileges assigned to them by OneDrive are the only ones who can see the results.
• In addition to supporting full crawls, the connector supports incremental crawls, which extracts only content which has changed since the last crawl.
• Indexes with a very high throughput.
• Minimizes the impact on OneDrive, therefore it does not affect performance.
• OneDrive retains the master information and the search index has pointers to original content. Therefore, users clicking on a search result are always working on the most current documents.
• The source system retains the master information and the search index has only a representation (pointers). If applicable to the database being crawled, users click on a search result and are taken to their original item or document.

As new versions of the search platforms are released, new features and functionality are introduced, and the same is true of new releases of OneDrive.
