Who’s running in Maryland’s 2026 elections and where do candidates stand on the issues? Ahead of the June 23 primary, for which early voting begins on June 11, The Baltimore Sun and Capital Gazette sent questionnaires to more than 700 candidates in key races including Maryland governor, attorney general, comptroller, General Assembly and competitive races for county executive, council, school board, state’s attorney and sheriff in the Baltimore area and Wicomico and Worcester counties. (Circuit court clerk and register of wills positions and orphans court and circuit court judgeships are also on the ballot this cycle.)
