CocoVail Barcelona ~ American Beer Hall with Catalan Craft Beers (original) (raw)

What happens when two Catalan friends return home to Barcelona after an extended period studying and working in the United States? They bring back part of the American craft beer scene with them. Inspired by the spacious, warm and friendly vibe of the many beer bars they frequented in New York, Arizona and San Francisco they decided to open CocoVail Beer Hall right in the heart of their home city, converting a 19th century textile factory-turned-parking lot into a vibrant social hotspot. If you love American hospitality and style you’re going to feel right at home here, where US college flags and surf memorabilia grace the walls, sturdy communal tables provide social opportunities and street food inspired snacks include 16 different styles of chicken wings.

On their three large TVs you’ll find every type of sport, but the NFL and NBA take precedence and you’ll also be able to cheer on your favourite college whenever they play. Where the love-in with the US ends is behind the bar: because their 24 taps pump out 90% local Catalan and Spanish brews, helping support the exciting regional beer scene.

If there’s a larger selection of draught craft beers anyway in Barcelona, we haven’t heard of it! You can also order each brew in a two litre pitcher if you fancy sharing, best quaffed over a game of Jenga, Connect4 or Cards Against Humanity. Younger more sweet-toothed drinkers can opt for a jug of Cava sangria instead.

Overall CocoVail is a great place to feel at home, hang out with friends, or meet new ones, in a different atmosphere to your typical Barcelona bar.
