Man charged with dangerous driving in Malvern after woman dies in crash (original) (raw)
A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a woman died in a two-car crash.
Emergency services were called to Stocks Lane, in Newlands, at 11:40 GMT on 8 January, but the woman, in her 80s, died in hospital.
Jake Quinn, 37, of Jamaica Road, Malvern was charged with causing death by dangerous driving over the crash as well as causing death by due care and failing to provide a specimen for analysis, West Mercia Police said.
He was also charged with driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit on 9 March and two further counts of the same offence on 3 May.
The force said he was given an interim disqualification from driving at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on 6 June.
Quinn was remanded in custody to next appear before Worcester Crown Court on 6 July.
The woman's name has not been released by the force.
