Partick Thistle 0-1 Ross County (original) (raw)
Colin McMenamin was the matchwinner for Ross County as his 13th goal of the season earned a win over Partick Thistle that stetches their lead in Division One to 17 points.
The Staggies almost went behind in the 11th minute when Sean Welsh's shot across goal went narrowly wide.
Chris Erskine then tested visiting goalkeeper Michael Fraser with a free-kick from the edge of the area after 33 minutes.
Derek Adams' side, who are unbeaten in the league since the second game of the season, took the lead against the run of play moments before half-time when Paul Lawson's corner was forced home from close range by McMenamin.
Thistle's best chance of the second half fell to substitute Christie Elliot, who missed the opportunity to equalise from Erskine's 67th-minute corner with a close-range header.
The Jags are now without a win in nine meetings between the two sides.
With Dundee drawing and Falkirk losing, County can now clinch the title and promotion next weekend should both those sides lose.
