Queen of the South 1-0 Dumbarton (original) (raw)

Paul Heffernan scored his first goal for Queen of the South as they recorded a narrow victory over second-bottom Dumbarton in the Scottish Championship.

The visitors started brightly with a number of early chances but could not find a way past keeper Robbie Thomson.

Heffernan got on the end of Lewis Kidd's cross to head Queens ahead.

Dumbarton almost levelled late on when substitute Kevin Cawley hit the post then Willie Gibson also went close for the visitors in stoppage time.
