Forest Green Rovers 0-1 Lincoln City (original) (raw)

Harry Anderson's opportunistic finish saw Lincoln grab a narrow victory at a wet and windswept Forest Green Rovers.

With strong gusts at their backs in the second half, the Imps took full advantage as Neal Eardley boomed a set-piece out of his own box for Anderson to chase.

The wide man emerged with the ball after Dale Bennett and keeper Brad Collins had collided on the edge of their own box, and slid into the empty net with 65 minutes on the clock.

Conditions were not conducive to flowing football but both sides were guilty of going long and making their frontmen feed off scraps.

Lincoln were just about deserving of their win by virtue of being the more composed outfit and the fact they had fashioned the better chances against the elements in the first half.

Rovers showed little in the final third with their best chance arriving in the 76th minute when Liam Noble robbed Michael Bostwick in the middle and fed Christian Doidge, whose looping shot was pawed over by Paul Farman.
