Mansfield Town 2-2 Morecambe (original) (raw)
For the second game in succession Mansfield had to come back from two goals down for a 2-2 draw, this time at home to Morecambe.
The Shrimps were ahead on four minutes when Sam Lavelle netted a close-range header at the far post from John O'Sullivan's right wing cross.
Then Kevin Ellison's looping cross on 21 minutes saw Lewis Alessandra beat the advancing Conrad Logan to it and nudge a header into the empty net.
Adam Buxton almost made it 3-0 as his audacious free kick from his own half sailed over Logan and against the bar on 28 minutes.
However, Mansfield were back in it on 39 minutes as Barry Roche could only parry Alex MacDonald's 20-yard shot and Nicky Maynard was on hand to net from five yards.
Krystian Pearce and Neal Bishop both headed over for the Stags after the break while Cole Stockton headed a rare Shrimps chance against the post on 70 minutes.
But Mansfield, who drew 2-2 with Newport last weekend, were finally level on 72 minutes as Danny Rose powerfully headed home Alex MacDonald's far post cross from the right.
The home side finished the game with 10 men after Matt Preston's 82nd minute lunge on Lewis Alessandra.
