Letter: Too much street debris near Tyler Street (original) (raw)

To the editor: Periodically I walk the side streets off of Tyler Street and find it appalling how much garbage is in front of houses and on the sidewalks.

I observe nips, bottles, cans, dog poop and shopping carts from local grocery stores and occasionally hypodermic needles.

What happened to taking pride in your community? Is it really too much trouble to go outside and clean up what was left by a person that could not care less? Why are there not trash cans scattered around street corners for people to deposit refuse?

I can only hope that the people of Pittsfield, together, can clean up their act.
