Audien and 3LAU‘s long-awaited collaboration has finally arrived. “Hot Water” taps the silvery vocals of Victoria Zaro and embraces a hard-edged sound that lands left-of-center for both producers.
“We wanted to do something different,” Audien tells Billboard, “something that might be a bit sonically off-brand for us both.” The song leads with rich melodic chords and metallic percussion, but takes a sudden turn at the drop.

The two, known for injecting euphoric synths into their respective productions, lay down a hammering bass line that’s intertwined with breathy vocal chops. The track took almost a year and a half to come to fruition, according to 3LAU.

He says, “It was a great experience going back and forth creating something that we felt stayed true to who we are as artists but that showcased our ability to incorporate various genres. I am thrilled that the song is finally being released ahead of our B2B set at EDC Las Vegas tonight [June 16]. Fans are in for an exciting performance.”
