Gary Graff is an award-winning veteran music journalist losing his mind in Detroit Rock City who's covered stories about rock, pop, hip-hop and other genres for Billboard. He also contributes Critic's Choice lists ranking key songs, albums and tour for a variety of artists. Graff writes for a number of magazines and newspapers around the world, as well as liner notes. He's authored, co-authored and edited books about Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger, Alice Cooper and Rock 'n' Roll Myths. He recently launched a new series spotlighting 501 Essential Albums of each decade, starting with a just-published book on the 90s. (The ‘80s is due out in the spring of 2025.) Graff is also the co-founder and co-producer of the Detroit Music Awards, which began during 1992. He can be heard weekly (Friday mornings) on Milwaukee's 102.9 the Hog and created and hosts a podcast dedicated to the historic Pine Knob Music Theatre in suburban Detroit.
