Filipe Soto a charismatic freedom fighter from Central America, flees to the U.S. with his young wife and baby, only to be hunted down by a death squad of counter revolutionaries. Felipe is taken into custody, while his wife Maria takes upon a new identity that of Amy Sutton and she begins a new life and meets Joe with whom she desperately attempts to rescue her estranged husband.
