�Heaven Knows What� is a difficult film to sit through. Directors Ben and Joshua Safdie aren�t interested in crafting an overview of heroin addiction and homelessness, they want viewers to live alongside the characters, feeling every drowsy step and rambling thought. It�s certainly a challenge to process the story and learn to accept discomfort, but the reward is an evocative look at lost souls in New York City, updating �Panic in Needle Park� for a new generation of ailing young people who don�t have a future.
