In early '90s, director KIM started in the film industry by working on such films as "The Blue in You", "Berlin Report", and "They Were Like Us" as a writer, prop master and assistant director among other roles. His 1993 exceptionally made noir debut "Scream City" was highly praised and won the Critic's Award at 20th Seoul Independent Film Festival. In 1997, "Beat" catapulted JUNG Woo-sung and KO So-young into stardom, and in 1998, "City of the Rising Sun" became his back-to-back hit and confirmed the mega star status of JUNG Woo-sung and LEE Jung-jae. Period actioner "Musa: The Warrior" was regarded for tightly knitted story, massive scale and stylish visuals. And now he's back after 10 long years of absence with Korean cinema's first ever viral outbreak film "The Flu". Director KIM's visual flair and refusal to abide to genre conventions is a breath of fresh air for Korean cinema.
