In typical George Lucas fashion, �Red Tails� is brimming with visual mastery, yet arrives a little light when it comes to searing drama. Bringing the tale of the Tuskegee Airmen to the big screen, Lucas keeps the human elements distractingly simplistic, creating an earnest but often ridiculous portrait of wartime racism and fighter pilot instability.
