When they all enter their planes in the same cross-country air derby, a group of female aviators find themselves competing with one another for money, prizes and men. The film's screenplay was written by famed US Navy aviator Frank 'Spig' Wead, who in turn was played by John Wayne in the biographical film, "The Wings of Eagles."
