Nine strangers -- all tenants of a New York high rise apartment --escape a nuclear attack by hiding out in the building's bunker-like basement. Trapped for days underground with no hope for rescue, and only unspeakable horrors awaiting them on the other side of the bunker door, the group begins to descend into madness, each turning on one another with physical and psycho-sexual torment.

�The Divide� is not a feature one should watch to maintain a happy mood. It�s a pitch-black post-apocalyptic drama, teaming with murder, rape, and raw hostility, carrying an ambiance of dread that requires a Silkwood shower after viewing. It�s also a halfway compelling study of dehumanization and survivor instinct, supplying some easily telegraphed yet fascinating scenes of physical and mental decay. It�s not a film for everyone.
