Seattle Mariners claim Taylor Williams off waivers from Milwaukee Brewers
Earlier today, Taylor Williams was claimed off of waivers from the Brewers by the Mariners. Williams had been designated for assignment after the Brewers signed Brock Holt earlier this week. Wiliams posted a 5.23 ERA and 3.86 FIP over parts of 3 seasons for the Brewers. He pitched in 56 games in 2018 and posted a 4.25 ERA and 3.95 FIP, but only made 12 MLB appearances in 2019 with a 9.82 ERA and 3.90 FIP. His numbers in San Antonio were better (2.83 ERA), and had been granted a fourth option this offseason. The Brewers had hoped to get him through waivers, but he'll get a chance to make the roster now in the Mariners camp. (Statistics courtesy of Baseball-Reference)
