Carrantuohill, mountain, the highest point (3,414 feet [1,041 meters]) of Ireland, in the Macgillycuddy’s Reeks, a mountain range on the Iveragh Peninsula, County Kerry. The range is composed of red sandstone, which has been substantially modified by geological ice action, notably in the form of sharp peaks and corries (scooped-out basins).
