Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau have taken their relationship to the red carpet, smiling and canoodling for the cameras at New York's Tribeca Film Festival on Monday evening.

The pop star and former prime minister looked cozy — caressing each other and affectionately touching foreheads at the premiere of her concert film, Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris.

Their warm displays of affection were tempered by more reserved outfits — Perry, draped in a Grecian-inspired white halter gown accented with rose embellishments while Trudeau kept things classic in a black suit paired with a white, open-collar shirt.

But Trudeau couldn't resist gushing about his girlfriend to reporters.

"I saw the show three times but I wasn’t paying attention to anything but Katy, so I'm looking forward to seeing the show now for the first time,” he joked to Entertainment Tonight.

Trudeau, 54, and the California Gurls hitmaker, 41, were first romantically linked back in July when they were spotted walking together in Montreal’s Mount Royal Park with Perry’s dog and, later, sharing dinner and drinks that evening.

That outing came shortly after Perry and her then-longtime fiancé, actor Orlando Bloom, announced they were separating after seven years together. The former couple share a daughter.

After photos surfaced in early October showing Perry and Trudeau embracing aboard the singer's yacht off the coast of her hometown of Santa Barbara Calif., the high-profile pair effectively acknowledged their relationship on Instagram when the pop star shared photos of herself alongside Trudeau during his visit to Japan.

Since then, they've been photographed together at events including an exclusive Netflix screening party and Coachella.

Trudeau, who stepped down as prime minister in March 2025, was previously married to Sophie Gregoire. The pair announced their separation in the summer of 2023 after an 18-year relationship and three children.

Trudeau’s eldest son, Xavier, who is an aspiring musician, recently told the Can’t Be Censored podcast that he often turns to Perry for feedback on his music.

"When I’m really happy with a song, [I] sent it to [her]," he said. "She’s always happy to give me advice or tell me what I should change," he said.
