Marlins' Max Meyer: No-decision vs. Arizona
Rotowire Jun 10, 2026
Meyer did not factor into Tuesday's decision against the Diamondbacks, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five across 5.1 innings.
Both of the runs Meyer allowed came on solo home runs from Corbin Carroll and Gabriel Moreno, marking the second time this season that Meyer has given up two homers in a game. He's yielded two earned runs or less in 10 of 14 starts and ranks fourth in the National League in strikeouts (86) and in the top-12 in both ERA (2.85) and WHIP (1.09) across 79 innings. Meyer's next start is slated for this weekend on the road against the Pirates.

Marlins' Grant Shepardson: Recovering from surgery
Rotowire Jun 9, 2026
Single-A Jupiter placed Shepardson on the 60-day injured list April 8 after he needed UCL surgery, J.J. Cooper of Baseball America reports.
Per the report, Shepardson was impressing during spring training before suffering the injury. He will miss all of 2026 and much of 2027 recovering from the procedure. The 20-year-old righty logged a 4.23 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 59 strikeouts in 55.1 innings in the lower levels in 2025.

Marlins' Ryan Gusto: Drawing another start
Rotowire Jun 9, 2026
Gusto is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks in Miami.
After being recalled Triple-A Jacksonville last Tuesday, Gusto pitched two innings out of the bullpen later that day in a 7-3 win over the Nationals. The Marlins then tabbed Gusto to fill the open spot in their rotation Friday, but because he was pitching on just two days' rest, he served as more of an opener and made just a two-inning start in a 6-0 loss to the Rays. Tyler Phillips piggybacked Gusto in long relief in that game, but the Marlins could look to separate the two pitchers during this upcoming turn through the rotation. Gusto had been working as a more traditional starter at Triple-A prior to his call-up, turning in a 1.20 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 21:3 K:BB in 15 innings over his final three appearances for Jacksonville.

Marlins' Esteury Ruiz: Swipes two more bags Sunday
Rotowire Jun 8, 2026
Ruiz went 0-for-1 with a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases in Sunday's win over the Rays.
The 27-year-old outfielder began the game on the bench but pinch hit for Owen Caissie in the seventh inning and remained in the contest in right field. Ruiz isn't seeing consistent playing time and sports a .196/.300/.471 slash line through just 60 plate appearances since he joined the Marlins' roster in late April, but he has slugged three homers and stolen 11 bags in 12 attempts while adding six RBI and 14 runs.

Marlins' Otto Lopez: Doubles and triples Sunday
Rotowire Jun 7, 2026
Lopez went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple, a double and a run scored during the Marlins' 4-1 win over the Rays on Sunday.
Lopez got the Marlins on the board with an RBI triple in the sixth inning before being brought home one batter later on a sacrifice fly from Kyle Stowers. It was the fourth time this season that Lopez recorded multiple extra-base hits in a game, and he has logged at least two hits in four of his last six outings. In that six-game span, he has gone 10-for-26 (.385) with four extra-base hits, two RBI and four runs scored.

Rotowire Jun 7, 2026
Bender earned the save in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Rays, allowing one hit while striking out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning.
Pete Fairbanks was utilized out of the bullpen Saturday, so the Marlins called on Bender to close out Sunday's game. Bender ended up tossing 24 pitches, 10 of which came in his strikeout of Cedric Mullins to seal the game for Miami. Bender sits at a 3.04 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, five holds and a 29:9 K:BB across 26.2 innings this season.

Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Fans seven in Sunday's win
Rotowire Jun 7, 2026
Alcantara (5-4) earned the win against the Rays on Sunday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out seven across seven innings.
It was another strong effort by Alcantara, with his lone blemish being an RBI single that he gave up to Yandy Diaz in the third inning. Alcantara tossed 58 strikes on 90 pitches while generating 11 whiffs, and his seven strikeouts matched a season high that he set against the White Sox on April 1. He's logged a quality start in back-to-back outings and now sits at a 4.33 ERA and 1.26 WHIP across 89.1 innings this season. He's also up to 57 career wins with the Marlins, which is third-most in franchise history behind Ricky Nolasco (81) and southpaw Dontrelle Willis (68). Alcantara is slated to start next weekend on the road against the Pirates.

Marlins' Javier Sanoja: Pops second homer in win
Rotowire Jun 7, 2026
Sanoja went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rays.
Sanoja turned in his fourth three-hit game of the season Saturday. Despite the eruption, the 23-year-old utility man doesn't seem to have a clear pathway to consistent action at any position for the Marlins. Through 146 plate appearances, Sanoja is hitting .267 with two homers, 10 doubles, 22 RBI and three stolen bases.

Marlins' Tyler Zuber: Puts out fire for first save
Rotowire Jun 7, 2026
Zuber secured the save Saturday against the Rays, allowing no baserunners in one-third of an inning. He struck out one.
Closer Pete Fairbanks allowed a pair of runs to let the Rays right back into the game, but Zuber quickly extinguished the fire by fanning Junior Caminero for the final out. It's hard to envision Zuber, who saw his first career save chance Saturday, seeing consistent high-leverage work going forward. It was only his second major-league appearance of the year after Zuber opened the year with Triple-A Jacksonville.

Marlins' Lake Bachar: Perfect as opener Saturday
Rotowire Jun 7, 2026
Bachar didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Rays, throwing three clean innings. He struck out three.
Bachar gave the Marlins exactly what they desired during a bullpen game, firing three flawless frames as an opener. Through 34.1 innings, the 31-year-old right-hander has an impressive 3.15 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 38:11 K:BB with one hold. His next assignment is undetermined, and it's also unclear how Miami will be deploying Bachar going forward.

Marlins' Christopher Morel: Not in Saturday's lineup
Rotowire Jun 6, 2026
Morel is not in the Marlins' starting lineup against the Rays on Saturday.
Even though the Rays are sending southpaw Shane McClanahan to the mound, the right-handed-hitting Morel will be on the bench for the start of Saturday's game while Leo Jimenez serves as the Marlins' designated hitter and Javier Sanoja starts at third base. Morel has seen a noticeable decline in his playing time due to his struggles at the plate, with the 26-year-old slashing .172/.232/.219 with one steal, one RBI and a 39.1 percent strikeout rate across 69 plate appearances this season.

Marlins' Tyler Phillips: Shaky in piggyback role
Rotowire Jun 6, 2026
Phillips didn't factor into the decision in Friday's loss to the Rays, giving up three runs on seven hits and three walks over 4.2 relief innings, He struck out three.
The right-hander worked in tandem with Ryan Gusto, who got the start and took the loss after coughing up three runs of his own in just two innings. Phillips wound up tossing 82 pitches (50 strikes) to help save the rest of the bullpen, and he even took a comebacker off the foot from Yandy Diaz in the fifth inning but was able to stay in the game. The Marlins' injury-depleted staff can ill afford to lose another arm, and assuming the foot isn't an issue, Phillips should get another turn as a starter or bulk reliever during next week's home series against the Diamondbacks. Over 18 appearances (two starts) this season, he carries a 2.08 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 36:22 K:BB in 43.1 innings.
