CBS Sports Chris Towers Jun 8, 2026
Rotowire Jun 10, 2026
Peralta (4-5) took the loss Tuesday against St. Louis, surrendering six runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five across six innings.
A disastrous third inning did Peralta in as five batters reached base, leading to a four-run frame that put St. Louis firmly in control. The right-hander compounded the damage in the fifth when Alec Burleson launched a two-run homer to extend the lead. The six runs allowed were a season high, but Peralta continued his streak of having surpassed 90 pitches in each of his last 13 starts. He now owns a 4.04 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 79:32 K:BB across 78 innings. Peralta is scheduled to make his next start at home against Atlanta.

Warren will serve as the Mets' opening pitcher in Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, Chelsea Janes of SNY.tv reports.
Warren has turned in an impressive 2.01 ERA and 1.12 WHIP through 22.1 innings with the Mets this season, and the team will now entrust him with getting through the top of St. Louis' order in Wednesday's contest. The team hasn't yet announced which pitcher, if any, will work in bulk relief once Warren exits the game.

Mets' Jorge Polanco: MRI comes back clean
Rotowire Jun 9, 2026
An MRI on Polanco's left ankle/Achilles tendon came back negative Tuesday, Andrew Tredinnick of The Bergen Record reports.
Polanco has battled problems with his Achilles all season, and the Mets paused his rehab assignment Saturday due to renewed soreness in his left ankle. Now that the 32-year-old has been cleared of any structural damage, the Mets will look to have him resume batting practice within the next few days.

Mets' Francisco Lindor: Full baseball activities this week
Rotowire Jun 9, 2026
Lindor (calf) will go through full baseball activities this week during the Mets' homestand, Chelsea Janes of SNY.tv reports.
Lindor has been ramping up his activity level recently and will have no major restrictions this week as he continues to crank it up a notch. The star shortstop has been sidelined since late April with a left calf strain, so he is sure to require a rehab assignment before rejoining the Mets' active roster. Those rehab games could come next week if all goes well with Lindor's workouts this week.

Mets' Luis Torrens: Returning to backup job
Rotowire Jun 9, 2026
Torrens is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.
The 30-year-old has operated as the Mets' primary catcher since Francisco Alvarez (knee) landed on the injured list in mid-May, but the latter was reinstated to the active roster Tuesday. Torrens has a .598 OPS in 120 plate appearances this season and should operate as New York's No. 2 catcher going forward with Alvarez now healthy.

Mets' Hayden Senger: Sent to Triple-A
Rotowire Jun 9, 2026
The Mets optioned Senger to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old was called up to serve as New York's backup catcher in mid-May after Francisco Alvarez (knee) landed on the injured list, but Senger will return to Triple-A with Alvarez coming off the IL on Tuesday. Senger played in just seven games while up in the big leagues and went 2-for-15 with one home run.

Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Comes off IL
Rotowire Jun 9, 2026
The Mets reinstated Alvarez (knee) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports. He's starting behind the plate and batting ninth Tuesday against the Cardinals.
The 24-year-old was expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus in mid-May, but he beat that initial recovery timeline by a mile and is back with the Mets less than one month later. Alvarez went 3-for-13 with a walk and two doubles during a four-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Syracuse. Prior to the injury, the young catcher had a .241/.317/.393 slash line with four home runs, 10 RBI and 12 runs scored through 37 games this season.

Mets' Wandy Asigen: Missing in action
Rotowire Jun 9, 2026
Asigen is dealing with a hamstring injury, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
He has yet to play in a Dominican Summer League game, although that season began June 1, so there is still time for him to make his pro debut in 2026. Asigen is one of the top prospects from this year's international signing class.

Mets' Kodai Senga: Scratched from rehab start
Rotowire Jun 9, 2026
Senga (spine) will not make his scheduled rehab start with Double-A Binghamton on Tuesday due to ulnar nerve irritation in his right arm, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Senga had been slated for his fourth rehab outing as he works his way back from lumbar spine inflammation, but now he has a new injury to deal with. The Mets have not revealed a timeline for when Senga might be ready to pitch again, but this is likely a significant setback. Senga has been shelved since late April.

Mets' MJ Melendez: Swats fourth homer
Rotowire Jun 8, 2026
Melendez went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Padres.
Getting the start in left field while Juan Soto got a partial rest as the DH, Melendez took Yuki Matsui deep in the sixth inning -- his fourth homer of the year, and first against a left-handed pitcher. The 27-year-old also made a spectacular diving catch in the second inning to rob Miguel Andujar of extra bases. Melendez hasn't had a multi-hit performance since May 6, batting just .098 (5-for-51) over his last 25 games with a 30.6 percent strikeout rate, but he remains in a battle for playing time with Mark Vientos, who isn't doing much better at the plate over the last few weeks.

Mets' Tyrone Taylor: Has begun running progression
Rotowire Jun 8, 2026
Taylor (hip) began running this past week but has yet to resume full baseball activities, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
The reserve outfielder suffered a hip injury while running out a groundball May 25. Taylor had a meager .530 OPS in 104 plate appearances when he landed on the IL, and with rookies A.J. Ewing and Carson Benge solidifying their spots in the lineup, the 32-year-old likely won't have much of a role once he gets healthy.

The second baseman has been on a power surge of late, going 7-for-25 (.280) with four homers over his past seven games. Rotowire Jun 8, 2026
Manaea (1-1) earned the win Sunday against San Diego. He allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out three over four innings of bulk relief.
Entering after an inning from opener Huascar Brazoban, Manaea was generally able to stay out of trouble, except for a two-run homer surrendered to Freddy Fermin in the fifth inning. The southpaw logged 66 pitches (39 strikes) in what was his second appearance since joining the New York rotation after operating exclusively as a reliever to open the season. Over his past seven outings, Manaea owns a 3.43 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 22:7 K:BB across 21 innings. The 34-year-old is tentatively slated to next take the ball Friday against Atlanta and could once again operate behind an opener.
