Ant McPartlin makes Saturday Night Takeaway return after ITV injury (original) (raw)

Ant McPartlin recovered from a nasty fall on last week's Saturday Night Takeaway to be back alongside Dec Donnelly this weekend, as a guest star addressed his injury just seconds into the show.

Last week saw Ant and Dec take part in a SMTV Live Reunion, alongside their old presenting partner in crime Cat Deeley, with things going awry for Ant when he struggled to move around in his huge purple costume, firstly tripping and falling onto his knees, before then falling backwards, as Dec also took a tumble when they fell off their chairs.

As Takeaway hurtles towards the end of what could be its last ever series, the Geordie duo were joined by not one, but two Star Guest Announcers this week, as Matt and Emma Willis became the first ever married couple to do the honours. And, first up on the mic, Emma didn't shy away from homing in on Ant's blunders seven days earlier.

Introducing him to the stage as Ant rubbed his back in the audience, Emma remarked: "He hurt his back with a monster fall on last week's show, that is Anty McPartlin," as Matt then added: "And he hurts his sides laughing at his best mate - that's Deccy Donnelly and this is Saturday Night Takeaway!"

Earlier this week, after lots of speculation that Girls Aloud had landed a role on Saturday Night Takeaway, it was officially announced that the Brit winners will be the Guest Announcers for the series finale, which will also feature S Club and returns for former co-hosts Scarlett Moffatt and Ashley Roberts.
