Star Wars is arguably one of the most popular film franchises of all time, with generations of film fans brought up on George Lucas' colorful world. And after Disney acquired Lucasfilm, the galaxy far, far away continues to grow with new and exciting projects. This includes Disney+'s The Mandalorian, which made history as a live-action series. Season 2 just wrapped up, and star Pedro Pascal recently addressed how long it might run on the streaming service.

In just two short seasons, The Mandalorian quickly rose as a fan favorite aspect of the Star Wars franchise. Season 2 greatly expanded the narrative, while also setting up a Boba Fett spinoff for Disney+. Pedro Pascal plays the show's title character, and was recently asked about how long the TV show might last. As the Wonder Woman 1984 actor put it,

No idea, I have no idea. Because I think that quality is always gonna override quantity. So as long as it's staying at this incredible standard to which it is at, it's more a matter of that than anything else.

Well, that seems hopeful. Because while there's no plans to end The Mandalorian anytime soon, Pedro Pascal seems to think the show will only run on Disney+ as long as the quality is up to snuff. The first two seasons were massively successful, so we'll have to wait and see how Jon Favreau's live-action series continues to shake out as it gets a bit longer in the tooth.

Pedro Pascal's comments come from his recent conversation with Entertainment Tonight about his role in Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 1984. Eventually the subject turned to the The Mandalorian, especially as the show's second season came to a close and brought a variety of wild twists. And while the Game of Thrones alum doesn't have a specific idea as to how many season are coming down the line, he seems confident that Lucasfilm will put quality over quantity.

The entire Star Wars franchise is currently streaming on Disney+, which is also the home of The Mandalorian. You can use this link to sign up for the streaming service.

The Mandalorian's same focus on quality can be seen by the episode count of its firs two seasons. Rather than a long series of adventures for Mando and Baby Yoda, both Seasons contained just eight episodes. The story is capsulated and focused, with the narrative coming to a head each season finale. And while fans like us may want more episodes, it looks like Jon Favreau and company are being methodical about the series.
