Kansas State football to play Big 12 opener on the road — again (original) (raw)
In what has become an annual ritual, Kansas State announced its full 2022 football schedule Wednesday with news that the Wildcats would once again play their Big 12 opener on the road.
It will mark the fourth straight conference road opener and 22nd in the 27-year history of the Big 12 for K-State.
The good news for the Wildcats is that they have three nonconference home games in which to prepare for that Sept. 24 trip to Oklahoma. They open Sept. 3 against South Dakota, then entertain former league foe Missouri on Sept. 10 and Tulane on Sept. 17 as part of a seven-game home slate.

The annual Sunflower Showdown against Kansas will close out the regular season on Nov. 26 — Thanksgiving weekend — at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
The Big 12 championship game is scheduled for Dec. 3 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
K-State plays its Big 12 home opener on Oct. 1 against Texas Tech, then goes on the road for the next two games, Oct. 8 at Iowa State and, after a bye week, Oct. 22 at TCU. Those are followed by back-to-back home games with Oklahoma State (Oct. 29) and Texas (Nov. 5).
The Wildcats travel to Baylor on Nov. 12 and West Virginia on Nov. 19.
