Struggling with minuscule audiences, when actor Foster Twelvetrees is engaged to provide entertainment at a country house, he hopes for a relatively easy few days' work.

Upon arrival, however, Foster quickly realises that the house is perhaps not quite as it seems. Owner Stewart Henderson is welcoming but there's a distinctly odd manner about the place. When his brothers begin arriving, their response to Foster is far more hostile, but all appear much more preoccupied with the issue of an impending inheritance.

Unfortunately for Foster, as his stay unfurls it just gets weirder and weirder - and weirder!
