TalkbackThames, owned by FremantleMedia, was created by merging Talkback Productions (founded by Griff Rhys Jones and Mel Smith) with Thames Television in 2003.
Both companies had strong histories of creating successful sitcoms, with their combined catalogue including I'm Alan Partridge, Green Wing, George & Mildred and Bless This House.
From 1st January 2012, Fremantle de-merged the two into separate brands: Thames concentrating on entertainment formats, and Talkback on scripted comedy.
