Series 1 (2011)
For the Goodman family, Friday Night Dinner is just like Sunday lunch: just take two days away, change the meal to dinner, and you've pretty much got it. Adam and his brother, Jonny, view Friday night dinner as a necessary annoyance - necessary because they get fed, and annoying because, well, they have to spend the evening with mum and dad.
Series 2 (2012)
Adam goes on a date with a girl who smells like mum, Jonny starts going out with a much older woman, mum is forced out the house by a mouse, dad starts drying fish in the downstairs cupboard, neighbour Jim makes a birthday cake for his dog, Wilson, grandma gets a new boyfriend who no one likes, and we meet dad's mother - 'Horrible Grandma'.
Series 3 (2014)
Adam gains a new female admirer, Jonny gets the world's worst tattoo, Dad gives the boys a graphic lecture on sex education, and Mum practises being a counsellor.
Series 4 (2016)
Jonny comes back from Las Vegas with a wife, Adam is left stranded outside in only his pyjama top - and no pyjama bottoms, Dad invites a friend over who speaks with his eyes closed, Mum is forced to pretend her mother has just died, neighbour Jim gets a cat, and 'Horrible Grandma' returns for more horribleness.
Series 5 (2018)
Mum and Dad get a hot tub, much to the horror of Adam and Jonny; Adam accidentally sets his car on fire; Jonny won't stop prank-calling Adam; Dad becomes obsessed with his old, terrifying ventriloquist dummy; Mum organises her own, terrible surprise party; Jim goes on a date from beyond hell; Horrible Grandma comes back for more horribleness - and the family have dinner.
Series 6 (2020)
Dad buys a grotty old caravan - and starts living in it; Mum almost has a heart attack when the boys both get 'females'; Jonny buys the world's most disgusting coat; Adam gaffer-tapes Jonny's phone to the ceiling; Aunty Val takes up sexting; Horrible Grandma wreaks havoc in the Goodman household - and Jim gets a brand new dog.
