Office manager Gloria needs to appoint a fire warden as a a fire-safety officer is due to visit the office. She chooses the ever-enthusiastic Darrel, who turns up to the briefing in high-visibility gear, complete with an axe in his tool belt.

Tania, meanwhile, has resolved to keep the baby and she's due to have a special lunch with Charlie. However, while delivering the post to scheming solicitor Lee Ann, Tania helps her deal with an irritating client on the phone - which she handles well. Lee Ann spots an opportunity to ease her workload and give Tania some "work experience", completely scuppering her romantic date.

Elsewhere, Shelley bumps into boyfriend Swanny outside court and invites him into the office to take advantage of the free hot drink vending machine. When Kenny spots them in the office he tells Shelley that she might get in trouble for inviting ex-convict boyfriends in to the workplace. They try to hide him, but he runs amok through the office - leading Kenny and Shelley on a wild goose chase.

With all the admin team off on their own personal missions, and Darrel annoying Mike with his fire-safety quest, Asif is left alone with all the work to do and a box of drawing pins that keeps getting knocked on to the floor. Working at an injury law firm has never been so hazardous.
