Ronnie Corbett is a mild-mannered suburbanite in his mid-30s. An employee of the City Life & Fire Insurance Co. Ltd., he commutes to his central London office each day by train, and - generally - lives a happy, if unremarkable life.

However, Ronnie is certainly not the average office worker. Easily flustered and confused, he nevertheless enjoys a convivial and close relationship with his boss, Mr A.M. Robinson, whilst sharing an office with colleague and neighbour, the snide Cyril Dawson - ever keen to get one over on Ronnie at any opportunity!

Although happily married to wife Laura, Ronnie's friendly nature and eagerness to remain young, hip and attractive inevitable and frequently lead him into flirtatious encounters and much confusion with members of the opposite sex: office secretary Miss Meredith seems a particular target of his charms.

Whether at home, on the train, in the office or entertaining the boss, Ronnie Corbett is a man who seems to wear disaster like a glove. Yet, somehow, he always manages to come out on top.
