One Foot In The Grave Series 6, Episode 1 - The Executioner's Song - British Comedy Guide (original) (raw)
An artistic dispute with the Meldrews threatens to scupper Patrick's plans for a quiet birthday. Meanwhile, Pippa has an affair and Victor gets some worrying medical test results.
Further details
Patrick has checked into laughter therapy but the therapist doesn't believe his full testimony of horror. Back at Victor's, a massive 50" television has been delivered by mistake, resulting in noise complaints owing to its similarly large and powerful audio system.
Meanwhile Patrick's dog has lost its voice after having seen Victor naked, and Pippa is feeling stressed because she's looking for a suitable birthday present for him. Margaret invites the pair to join them at a local Chinese restaurant for a meal, but Patrick refuses out of a mix of fear and resentment, leaving Victor alone to discover the secrets of 'The Shaghai Express'.
Attempting to help Pippa, Victor thinks he's found modern-art lover Patrick the perfect birthday present from the home of a local artist whose windows he cleans, but the gesture looks set to go down poorly; and clients for his cleaning round are cancelling in alarming numbers.
