A un-identified space object beams Red Dwarf into it's path and when they get on board there seems to be no life forms around.

That is, until, Legion suddenly appears. He seems to want only the best for the crew, and makes sure they get everything they ever desired. Soon, the Dwarfers start to wonder why he is so keen to please. Of course, only Kryten guessed that he was made up of each different part of their personalities.
