Albert Steptoe

Dirty, rude and lazy rag-and-bone man Albert Steptoe spends all his time disapproving of his son. He maintains a vice like grip on him by pretending to be "old and feeble" when required. Really cunning and devious, Albert would always get his way and avoid doing any work, driving his son mad in the process.

Albert was born on 26th September 1899.

Harold Steptoe

Both home and work were a prison for Harold, as there was no way of escaping his father, Albert, in either of those places.

Always short of money, life was hard for Harold, and to make matters worse he knew that his cunning father would always maintain a grip on his life whilst he was alive. Harold did have a long-term relationship but that too was ruined by his father.
