Teachers series and episodes list - British Comedy Guide (original) (raw)
All series
Series 1 (2001)
Simon, Kurt, Brian, Jenny, Susan and Bob are the teachers no parent would want looking after their kids. In the debut series we are introduced to the teachers and see them making friends, falling out, trying to figure out the opposite sex, smoking in the playground and dealing with lippy pupils. The action follows the teachers' arbitrary attitudes to their own work and includes many school-night drunken confessionals and adolescent antics. The first episode sees Kurt, Brian and Susan celebrate Simon's birthday by breaking into the school.
Series 2 (2002)
The teachers return for a second series of extracurricular activity. In addition to problematic pupils, Simon and his equally hapless colleagues finds themselves having to spark up in the toilets whilst the formidable Head of Year attempts to glean countless unstarted bits of marking and reports off them. There's also two new teachers to welcome to Summerdown: Manipulative blonde haired sex kitten English teacher Penny, and handsome foreign languages teacher John Paul Keating. JP arrives into Teachers as something of an enigma, but we find out more about him as the series progresses.
Series 3 (2003)
It's business as usual in the third series for our young teachers who specialise in immaturity rather than the traditional subjects. Brian and Kurt are still dreaming of getting laid, and it looks like they've met their match with new biology teacher Lindsay - she can drink a pint in 1.3 seconds, she likes curry and she can out-blunt any of the boys! Back in the photocopier room, Matt (married with kids) and Penny have managed to find the perfect work/play balance and are enjoying some extra curricular activity of their own. And as for everyone's favourite teacher who quit teaching to go travelling in the last series? Simon returns but doesn't receive the welcome he had hoped for when he surprises his old mates.
Series 4 (2004)
Back at Summerdown, it's not only a new term, but effectively a new school as Summerdown has merged with Wattkins Comprehensive. As a result, old faces including 'fat, not pregnant' apathetic Lindsay, surgically enhanced sex kitten Penny, and embittered toupee wearing Bob now have to share a staff room with some new recruits: gullible, impossibly handsome Ewan, the new head of English; Ben, the neurotic atheist RE teacher and eternally pessimistic, rubbish-with-women Food Tech teacher Damian. Extra-curricular highlights of this final series include Bob marrying his internet-procured bride Ping in the playground, gay awareness week and an Ofsted pass acquired by very ill-gotten means.
