The Nightly Show: Britain's latest crack at US-style TV
It's clearly too soon to judge the chances of The Nightly Show after only one of its declared 40 editions. But, if the first night proves representative, the show may struggle to equal, on any of its five nights, the level of star power that Graham Norton manages on his one.

The Nightly Show: 'Truly awful, gut wrenching rubbish!'
It had riled people up the wrong way before it had even started. And sadly for ITV, the network's newest chat show - The Nightly Show - has left an even bitterer taste in viewers' mouths following it's debut transmission on Monday night.
Daily Mail, 28th February 2017
The Nightly Show pulls almost 3m viewers
The launch of The Nightly Show on ITV attracted almost 3 million viewers on Monday night, but the News at Ten recorded its lowest Monday audience of the year so far in its new temporary 10.30pm slot.
Jasper Jackson, The Guardian, 28th February 2017
This new daily entertainment show, which features comedy, video clips and studio guests, has been preceded by a trailer of absurdly exaggerated camp starring opening host David Walliams. This snippet - which climaxes in Walliams being served champagne by a buff, half-naked waiter on rollerblades - probably sets the tone for a show that's unlikely to be understated. Future hosts include John Bishop and Gordon Ramsay.

Preview - The Nightly Show
This week ITV is bringing back some hit shows and starting some new ones. One of these new editions is quite a big one, seeing as how it has taken over the place previously held by News at Ten.
Ian Wolf, On The Box, 27th February 2017
The Nightly Show review
James Corden and his fellow US talkshow hosts can sleep easy in their squishy Hollywood beds tonight because The Nightly Show (ITV), a British attempt to emulate what they do, fell as flat as a Shrove Tuesday pancake. In the process, it made such slick American TV productions look even better.
Michael Hogan, The Telegraph, 27th February 2017
TV Review: The Nightly Show
ITV1's much-trailed attempt at a topical comedy and chat show five nights a week started with a plodding episode that was equal parts unoriginal and uninspiring.
Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 27th February 2017
The Nightly Show review
In the intro, Walliams joked that confused viewers might think 'the News At Ten's gone a bit down-market'. Downmarket's not the issue, bland is. The Nightly Show does not feel like the mustn't-miss proposal that ITV need it to be. The gamble hasn't paid off.
