Yolo County Sheriff’s deputies arrest convicted felon on firearm possession charges (original) (raw)
Yolo County Sheriff Detectives, along with Sacramento County Probation Officers, made an arrest after launching an investigation into a 25-year-old Woodland resident for being in possession of firearms while being a convicted felon.
The investigation led law enforcement back and forth through both Sacramento and Yolo Counties. Eventually, two locations of interest were located and found to be associated with the suspect Rudy Hader, including an apartment on the 600 block of 3rd Street in Woodland.
During the investigation, investigators learned that Hader is currently out of custody on supervised own recognizance probation. This stemmed from a late 2025 arrest where Hader fled from officers after a domestic dispute. Hader was arrested after a brief foot chase where he was also charged with being a felon in possession of ammunition.
On March 25, Yolo County Detectives and West Sacramento Detectives, with the assistance of the Yolo County Regional SWAT Team and the Sacramento County Special Enforcement Detail, served simultaneous search warrants in both Woodland and Sacramento County.
During the operation in Woodland, the Yolo County Regional SWAT Team detained Hader inside the apartment without incident. He was turned over to sheriff detectives, who placed him under arrest shortly after for weapon charges.
After the location was secured, detectives conducted a search of the apartment and located Hader’s Glock 34 semi-automatic pistol and ammunition. Subsequently, the search in Sacramento County also turned up a quantity of ammunition.
Hader was booked into the Yolo County Jail for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
