Andrew Pierce has said that foreign nationals who commit crimes should be immediately deported in the wake of riots that have sparked across the UK.

The Daily Mail columnist said that deporting people who are not from Britain and are in the prison system could free up space for thugs who have sparked violence in the wake of the Southport stabbings.

Fake claims fueled by Russian-linked fake news that the suspect, now named as Axel Rudakubanu, was an asylum seeker who arrived in the UK on a boat sparked violent riots in cities and towns including Southport, London, Manchester and Sunderland last week.

Britain's crackdown on rioters has continued today - as dozens more far-right thugs have been humbled as they face charges and sentencing.

Speaking with Sarah Vine on the Mail's talk show, The Reaction, he questioned whether Sir Keir Starmer would be able to jail all of the yobs charged for offences over the last week, and suggested this as a credible solution.

The veteran political commentator replied: 'I am surprised that they are not already having courts at night. They're not sitting at weekends.

'And he says they're going to be banged up in a week, well where are they going to go? We've only got 500 prison spaces.'

Responding, co-host Ms Vine said: 'I think it was you who said if they want to free up some spaces in prisons they can send back all the foreign nationals that we have we have in our prisons and they haven't suggested doing that at all.

Pierce added: 'And I still think they should and when I put that again on social media it was seen by about two million people. I think a lot of people agree.

'It is a good idea - we don't want them here. They broke the rules in this country. That is inhospitable. That's 10,500 spaces.'

The pair further discussed the methods by which the Labour government is going about sentencing thugs who have been involved with the violence.

They said that they must be made to serve their full sentence, rather than being released on parole.

Mr Pierce continued: 'Rather than banging on about terror charges, which sounds very complicated to me, and would probably then mean the public prosecutors will screw up in court, it's much more simple to charge them with riot and affray and bang them up.'

Responding Ms Vine said: 'I mean, one of these guys in Southport, the 58 year old Derek Drummond has just been given a three year sentence for beating up a police officer, which I think is probably fair enough.'

And Mr Pierce added: 'Perhaps the judge could say, by the way, it's three years.

'You're not coming out after half of your sentence - or as Labor are now saying you're going to only observe 40 per cent of your sentence and we'll let you out.

'No. Three years means three years'
