Marc Guehi was named in the Crystal Palace starting lineup for the 4-0 win at home to Norwich in the Carabao Cup - despite being close to a £70million move to Newcastle.
Guehi, who captained Palace for the match and played the whole 90 minutes, has been heavily linked with a switch away from the club this summer and is seemingly on the verge of leaving before the transfer deadline.
However, the deal has yet to be finalised and Oliver Glasner selected the England international in his starting XI for the clash with the Championship side.
Further discussions between Newcastle and Palace took place on Monday ahead of what would be a club-record deal for the Magpies.
Palace have already rejected four offers from Newcastle this summer for the England international.

Guehi's involvement for Palace means that he wouldn't be able to feature in the Carabao Cup for Newcastle this season if he made the move.
After previously impressing for Palace, Guehi enhanced his reputation further with some superb performances as he helped England to reach the final of Euro 2024.
Guehi has been at Palace since 2021, when he joined from Chelsea.
