Benidorm local urges Brits to avoid 'worst place' at holiday hotspot (original) (raw)

Thousands of Brits flock to the sandy beaches of Benidorm for their holidays, drawn by the high temperatures and affordable beverages.

However, a local has recently issued a warning to tourists about a specific area known for scams. Frank, a party organiser who goes by @frankthestagman on TikTok, recently gave viewers a tour of this particular area.

In his video, he drives past the indoor market and Mariano's, a 24-hour food store, before moving onto the area opposite the Flash Hotel. Frank pointed out: "Just before we hit the strip, there's a little police building. I'm going to show you here with a little playground next to it."

He warned this is where many people fall victim to pickpocketing. His partner chimed in with: "Ironically, it's also where they tell you, if you have an incident as an English person, such as a robbery, you have to go and report it there."

They claimed that this area, particularly the corner near the small playground, is a "hotspot" for muggings, despite being located right on top of the strip. Frank usually celebrates Benidorm in all its glory - promoting everything from the hotels to the parties and weather updates to potential visitors.

He also uses his platform to caution people about potential dangers while travelling. He emphasises the importance of staying alert to avoid becoming a victim of crime during holidays, aiming for tourists to enjoy a worry-free experience.

Since the video went live, it has racked up hundreds of views, and prompted swift reactions from viewers. Some shared their own unfortunate experiences of crime in the same location.

One individual recounted: "Got mugged there two weeks ago - watch, phone and wallet. Police found my wallet the day after, but bank cards gone. Just hotel key and driving licence left."

Another shared their misfortune, writing: "I had my travel wallet stollen as I helped my mum get off the coach. Only just arrived. Lost all my money, passport, tickets. There was a queue of people all in the police station - all been pickpocketed."

Yet, a third offered a contrasting perspective, saying: "It really scares me, but I came out as a solo female and have zero issues. Was also in your bar. Lovely place - I will be back."
