This is surprising in its own way, but something is missing here. It seems to me that the cap of the mushroom, which cuts into the stem of the vertical mushroom, should also have its own stem. Just how to launch a drop so that you get a horizontal mushroom with a stem... you need centrifugal force or a second gravity vector (which, of course, is impossible). It's easier to superimpose a second frame.
