Description

Both serve as the judge of a killing game located at a prodigious school(Myōjō Academy and Hope's Peak Academy) where they force students into killing each other. In said killing game, they lay down a rule for students going for kills in which failure to get away with the kill(Not killing Haru in 48 hours and getting caught as the blackened respectively) leads to removal from the game(expelled from the school or executed). Both layout massive incentives to get students to kill each other(Nio promises the winner can get whatever wish they want while Monokuma keeps bribing students) but are also being controlled themselves(Haru by Yuri and Monokuma by Junko). Both mainly watch from the sidelines until near the end of the game where they decide to be the final challenge, even framing the protagonist in a way(Nio disguises as Tokaku while Monokuma tries to frame Makoto) but are exposed by the protagonist ultimately, yet manage to survive. Both mostly display a joyful demeanor with a big smile, but behind that smile both are cruel and sadistic, taking pleasure in the suffering and despair of others. Both also specialize in many techniques based around trickery and manipulation, but are capable of fighting should the situation call for it.
