Forest Silhouette 1 by acshurte on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

These were an experiment; I found a diffuser filter for my wide angle lens in my gear that I hadn't even taken out of the plastic wrapper it came in, so I put it on and went to Poor Farm Park after a rain storm ended today and started shooting. I noticed it was doing something odd when I aimed up- natural silhouettes that were fairly striking, so I took quite a few of these. For the most part, my other shots didn't come out (I might be able to do manipulation work with some of them, however), but that's normal for experimentation (sometimes everything flops, or almost everything does, but you do make discoveries like this).

To avoid confusion, I'm putting them in monochrome photography, but if you zoom in enough they've got colored pixels because I didn't do any sort of monochrome conversion to them (I zoomed in to like 500% and it's there, however muted). I'll probably run the remainder through silver efex pro- maybe these too, later- though.

There's three of these right now, and some more will be ready later on.
